Rare Antique Staffordshire Pearlware SILVER LUSTRE Resist BLUE GROUND Mug c1820
A Rare Antique Staffordshire Pearlware Silver Lustre Resist BLUE GROUND Mug circa 1815. About 3 1/2″ high x 3 1/2″ across the lip. A finely potted mug dipped in a blue slip then decorated in silver lustre resist with rows of circles and leaves. The thumbrest is silver lustred halfway down the handle and a 1/2 of the blue ground is left showing at the base. In excellent condition without any damage I can see or feel. There is some light oxidation to the lip on both sides which only shows in the right light. Please see all the photos and close up photos to add to the condition report. Offering this rare antique lion. Measures 8″ x 4″ x 6 T. It’s in good overall condition with a nice glaze consisting of brown and yellow. Has crazing and the vintage crackled surface from age…. There is few minor spots of loss and abrasions on the edges as seen but no major cracks or lines.

A rare pair of antique Staffordshire pottery monkey figures, dating from the first half of the 1800s. The monkeys are seated on a mound and holding fruit. They are a true mirror pair – one monkey holds the fruit in its left hand, the other monkey holds the fruit in its right hand. The figures are approximately 3.25 inches tall. Like many pieces from this time there are flaws – one chip as seen to the underneath of the base, a repair between his head and neck which has been done well, and a line in his cloak as well as wear to the pearl like coating. There isn’t much I can find about this piece – he may well be King Arthur and this particular style of figurine is extremely rare.
