With a careful winding and car held aloft, the motor still runs and spins the rear wheels. LOVELY DELICATE DESIGN, WITH REAR FACING SEAT OPPOSITE THE TIN DRIVER FIGURE. ATTRACTIVE TIN LITHO EXTERIOR IN GREEN / BLACK. WITH ITS RARE ANCIENT RUBBER TYRES, NOW SHOWING EXPECTED DISTRESSED CONDITION…… FLAT SPOTS, HARDENED ETC.. RARE ANTIQUE TIN TOY. EARLY MECHANICAL MOTORCYCLE / AUTOMATON RIDER. NICE SIZE AT ABOUT 8 INCHES LENGTH / 7 INCHES HEIGHT. CLOCKWORK / WIND UP MECHANISM….. POWERS THE BIKE THRU ITS RARE CHAIN DRIVE ACTION. PERIOD EDWARDIAN GENTLEMAN FIGURE, WITH ORIGINAL HAND PAINTED FINISH. VERY NICE OLD MOTORCYCLE, STILL WITH BRIGHT BLUE LITHO. NICE TIN SPOKE WHEELS & ORIG. ORIGINAL FIXED-KEY WINDER TO THE LEFT SIDE. THE MOTORCYCLIST HAS A WONDERFUL ARTICULATED MOVEMENT, GIVING THE IMPRESSION HE IS “PEDAL STARTING ” HIS BIKE. STILL WITH THE UNDERSIDE LITTLE BALANCE WHEELS. WONDERFUL OLD PIECE NOW OVER 100 YEARS……. The rider displays with typical paint loss/wear, chips, flaking as is common to these earlier German toys. Nice bright tin litho, with just little surface marks, chips, scuffs etc…. Great rot free state. No repaint or touch up. Motorcyclist has lost his left arm to shoulder hang tabs i have created a simple metal bracket with tabs, which simply slots into the original shoulder slots….. The rider’s underside upper left arm, simply requires securing permanently to this bracket…. With a drop of solder ideally….. But to leave for the next owner, i have had the arm very securely fixed in place with a small blue tack fixing/so easily removeable if desired. If you look at the images, you probably wouldn’t know the left arm has been repaired this way….. But i always try to be honest. MOTORCLE RIDER SITS GREAT ON HIS OLD SADDLE. WITH A CAREFUL WIND UP OF THE ANCIENT MECHANISM….. SEE SHORT CLIP BELOW AS THE MOTORCYCLE RIDES ABOUT VERY NICELY. RARE EARLY GERMAN TOY DISPLAYS REALLY WELL & STILL WORKS GREAT. Antique Sewing Machine Rare Early 1900s VESTA B Working L O Dietrich Germany. This beautiful sewing machine was produced by Vesta, who manufactured sewing machines in the Leipzig/Altenburg area of Germany between the late 1800s and 1938. The company was originally formed by 3 locksmiths, Leopold O. Dietrich, Hermann Köhler and Gustav Winselmann. They had very limited experience in producing sewing machines and initial were “inspired by” SINGER machines, but would eventually produce their own designs. Had left and established a new factory in Altenburg under the VESTA name, whilst the other two founders would form their own company. Post WW2, the company never restarted as a private enterprise and reopened as’VEB Sewing Machine Works Altenburg’ and would continue until the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990. Vesta produced a number of models, with this particular example being a VESTA-B and bearing the serial number S1256729. Vesta machines are rare in the UK, particularly for machines which are working and in good cosmetic condition. Furthermore, this example comes with original spare parts, spare needles in an original pack, and an original Vesta manual/parts list (all in excellent condition for their age). The sewing machine is in good order and sews well (see pictures 11 and 12 for example of output). Cosmetically, the machine is in very good condition for its age, with only minor wear to the decals. The case has seen some woodworm at some point, but it does not appear to be a major issue and is otherwise in good condition. In the latter case, we will send you an invoice ASAP. Some of the exceptions to these rules are as follows. Items over 15 KG will be issued via an alternate courier service, which will be sent in conjunction with ParcelMonkey. All items are available to collect in person from Wolverhampton in the West Midlands. There is no charge for this, but please get in touch in advance if this is something you wish to do.
