This acorn has the tightest detail I have ever seen in any vinaigrette! There are about 3 different colors of gold; green, orange and rose. As you can see, it is in very good condition. The shell hallmark is French for 585 (14k) gold. FINE QUALITY RARE 18TH EARLY 19TH CENTURY CHINESE CARVED SLIDING TOP TANGRAM PUZZLE BOX. This is a very Rare late 18th early 19th Century Chinese tangram puzzle box, late 18th early 19th century, i would estimate a date of circa 1800. Making this rare puzzle box over 200 years old. This rare puzzle box has a sliding lid carved with five figures and pagodas with flowering shrubs in a `bamboo` frame. There are rural scenes carved around the sides of the box and inside on the bottom you will see it is carved with three figures and pagodas with flowering shrubs again, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb, there are no puzzle piece with this box, this would have once belonged to a very wealthy 18th Century Gentleman many years ago when times were so very different, if this box could talk i can just imagine what fascinating stories it could tell, this snuff box is so very tactile and once held it has the most wonderful feel. This will add something very special to any collection, my photos dont do it justice. The condition is nice with no actual damage to the carving, though it appears the base my have come away and been put back on as there are tiny gaps to the edging, it is in need of a clean, but then it is over 200 years old and such a rare object. 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches and 2 cm height. BEAUTIFUL RARE EARLY 18TH CENTURY GEORGIAN SOLID SILVER CREAM JUG. This is a Beautiful rare early 18th Century Georgian Solid Silver Cream Jug, i would estimate this wonderful Jug dates to circa 1730 but as the marks are hard to read it could be even earlier, making it at least 260 years old or more, the design and decoration to the body is stunning from its embossed decoration of the most exquisite flowers and foliage inside panels with each panel having a different flower within, to the front of the body of this wonderful early cream jug you will see a cartouche surrounded by foliage, the cartouche has engraved initials, the spout and rim of the cream jug has a beautiful scalloped design, this then sits on 3 shell capped feet, this is then finished with a stunning double C scroll handle and to the top it has a flying leaf cap design, the inside still retains traces of its original gold gilt finish, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb, This early 18th Century Cream Jug would have once belonged to a wealthy 18th Century Family and used daily , this was in a time many years ago when things where so very different. A beautifully ancient part of a Roman gold earring , dating circa II – III century A. This wonderful gold earring displays the great craftsmanship of the ancient goldsmith who created it. The terminal is in the form of a shield with five small circles and the details are remarkable for such a small piece. The earring is formed of five strands of twisted gold wire, two of which are twisted filigree and the other being plain twisted wire. The terminal has chased decoration as well as applied coiled and filigree wire. Condition: Excellent, beautifully preserved, with no restorations. VERY RARE EARLY MODEL WENTWORTH TOOTHILL Vtg Mid Century 50s 60s Sofa Bed Yellow
This is the extremely rare earlier edition of the Toothill’Wentworth sofa with copper legs instead of the usual teak legs found on the later edition. A stunning sofa which we have replaced the cushions, reupholstered and webbed with Pirelli webbing. Constructed from solid afromosia and walnut with copper piping, a walnut veneered backrest and beautiful copper legs. A great feature of the design are two built in solid walnut sidetables, supported by copper fixtures at either side of the seat cushion which slide in and out to transform into a sofa bed. Condition – the sliding mechanism on one sidetable does not move as freely as on the other which is probably down to lack of use and may loosen again over time. One table top also has a small scratch with a slight dent which has been photographed. The backrest does show some signs of wear to the edges, some surface scratches, one is more significant and has been photographed. There is a line/mark on the wood where the metal frame supports on each side of the backrest. Please note that although the sofa overall is in great condition and has had a polish and been reupholstered it does show signs of wear and tear as to be expected of a sofa approx 50 years old.
