What an impressive Windsor chair with outstanding color! This square-back/rod back Windsor with its flared shield seat and its overall unrivaled features is listed as being rarely documented and with few examples found. A similar chair is pictured in Charles Santores, The Windsor Style in America Volumes I and II on page 247 of its New Discoveries section. Here the author reports, The number of never-before-published Windsor finds of exceptional quality and importance has compelled me to prepare this entire chapter on new discoveries. This chair is in good condition with no notable defects other than the expected scratches and nicks and overall wear. One stretcher pictured appears could benefit from being pushed deeper into the leg, but I havent attempted to do that. Rare Antique Pair of Tole Peinte Garniture Bouquet Urns Early 1800s. This is an extremely rare garniture from the early 1800s either French or Italian. Initially crafted for the flower market stalls. Placed on the back of the shelf and with fresh flowers placed in front the flowered urns gave the illusion of the shelves being lush with flowers. Either a pair on top of the mantle or on the ground flanking the opening of the fireplace. On a table one could protect a candle from drafts. The ones from the market would not have survived the conditions. The ones found in pairs today were pairs bought for the home. They are extremely rare. As far as researching pairs most of the examples I can find are far more simple in the design and execution. Plus a tad smaller in size. As far as Im concerned this pair is worthy of being part of a decorative arts collection in a museum. They measure up to almost 24. The widest point is between 10-11 inches. The paint for the age is very stable and not flaking. The detail work is amazing. One of the central posts has a break. This is not uncommon. It is still very stable. These are each little works of art. The collection varies from c. Will describe each as listed. This is an early one, a rare purplish-white opaline glass, an ormolu cased bonbon basket with 2 lift-up lids, each with their own mother of pearl-accented 1 1/8 round architectural paintings. The two scenes are le Odelisk and Napoleon’s Triumphal Arch in front of the Louvre. Photos show the fine details, condition, measurements. Very good to excellent condtion throughout for age and type. No chips or flaws on the old early 1800s opaline glass, and no dents or losses on the intricate ormolu. The lids are not made with clasps, each side rises like a basket’s sides. And the center hinge is a pin-hinge, both sides connecting but totally functional. Measurements noted on photos. The addition of mother of pearl behind sections of the paintings gives this one shimmer of rainbow at angles of view. We’re easy to deal with. You are very important! Rare PAIR Antique French Empire Marble Glass Vases. Stunning very rare quality pair of antique French Empire swirl glass marble. Beautifully decorated Napoleonic Empire style gilt brass/bronze mounts. They are not signed. Condition is generally very good and remarkable considering their age and still together as a pair… There are some tiny pieces missing on the gilt mounts around the body with the mounts on one vase been re-attached at some point and is about a 1/4 shorter with a small slither of glass missing near the base as shown… Very hard to tell unless very closely scrutinised. All as shown and does not detract in anyway as the photos show. They have a great aged patina with some rubbing, marking, scratches etc loss of gilt…. All nothing major, but noted. The pair measure overall 11″tall (one measures 10.75″) and 7″ across with a base diameter of 3.25″ and a top rim diameter of 3.5. Rare Antique Early 1800s Italian German4/4 Violin & Case-14 Inch Back-NiceTone

It bears a label: Hohner Copy of Stradivari Made in Germany. The Hohner Violin Company made violins in the later 1800s. This violin looks older and it is my opinion that the violin was made in the early 1800s. This violin has what looks like a grafted neck but it is a repair to the peg box and scroll done professionally and holding well. It is a well made violin with thinner edge work than most German violins usually have. Thin edges are usually an Italian trait as well as a 14 inch back which this violin has! Many German violins have 14 1/4 inches on the back. This violin has a 3 inch repaired crack on the table (top) which is pictured off the left f hole… But not on the soundpost or bassbar. The rest of the violin is in excellent condition. There are the usual scratches, scuffs and scrapes to the varnish one would expect from a violin of this age. The pegs match and work fine. The instrument is playable with the old strings. This violin would be good for orchestral or chamber music. The wood is tight fine grain spruce on the table and nice flamed maple on the ribs, back, neck. I believe it is worth every penny of that. NOW YOU CAN OWN IT FOR LESS! The violin comes WITHOUT BOW.
