I had a wonderful opportunity to acquire a gorgeous collection of early 19th century, circa 1820’s chintz. All English printed for the American market. A prestigious fine collection from a New England collector. I’ll be listing them all in separate listings. This listing is for an outstanding & amazingly beautiful early urn floral chintz. Roller printed & hand block printed. Gorgeous early palette of rose, greens, blues & browns. The ground is in the soft ochre range with some variance to the depth of color which is how the dye settled over time. The scale is large. Please zoom into all the lovely elements as it is beautifully created. Very overcast today so not certain my photos do this outstanding piece justice. Appears in lovely condition for it’s age with some variance to the depth of the colors, some surface patina & a few small random age spots. None detract from this extraordinary specimen. Excellent for many authentic early period projects & quilt repair, cushions, framing, possibly a cover for a stool or similar etc. And excellent in a collection or archive as these are all very rare survivors. So early & so hard to find. Measures 26″ wide by 43″ long. If desiring the full panel, please enter a quantity of “2” & you’ll receive a length that is 26″ wide by 86″ long. Rare antique (Georgian Memento Mori Mourning Brooch) complete with antique velvet lined case, with skull miniature set beneath its original crystal within a yellow metal untested oval scroll pattern setting still in excellent antique condition. Brooch also has a (C) loop so that it can also be worn as a pendant. Please see pictures as they are part of the discription. Brooch meaures just over one inch in length. Antique Chinese Kut Hing Swatow 3 Piece Pewter Cocktail Shaker – Early C20th. This is a rare pewter Cocktail Shaker made by the Kut Hing Pewter works of Swatow (now Shantou) in Guangdong. The Kut Hing company was arguably the most prominent Swatow pewterware maker of the late 19th/early 20th century. It is engraved with a beautiful stylised dragon and stamped with the Kut Hing Marks on the base and in the lid. This has been in my family for many years but unfortunately I don’t know anything else about its history. I do know that there are very few of these on the market. I would guess that this dates from the early C20th, and internet research seems to bear this out. The shaker measures approximately 22.5 cm (just under 9 inches) to the top of the lid, and the maximum diameter is approximately 30 cm (11.5 inches approx). Condition: Good for age, with a nice patina. There are a few scratches and dings, and some minor oxidation marks, all of which which I have tried to show in the photographs. I have not polished it or attempted any restoration as I feel that, if needed, it should be done by an expert. Thank you for looking. Please check out my other vintage and antique items for sale.
