Part of our , “American dolls” celebration. Here for your enjoyment and consideration is an extraordinarily, RARE very early all original, 22 tall, wigged and bare foot , antique oil painted, stockinette cloth ALABAMA BABY doll by Ella Smith of Roanoke, AL. Most of these hand painted dolls have only painted hair and painted shoes. She has tab-jointed shoulders and hips with individually stitched fingers and toes, applied ears, sturdy shaped legs and distinctively shaped derriere for sitting as well as the circular head seam (no painted hair) beneath her original, thick curly human hair wig. She also has originally painted, vivid blue eyes, lashes, brows and nicely shaped mouth and nose, painted arms and lower legs. From a private Virginia collection, she has been preserved in all her original clothing consisting of a fantastic antique, blue and white, sailor style, pinafore dress, shirt with blue collar and cuffs, matching blue and white sailor bonnet with buttons, undershirt and lace camisole, pantalettes, original blue & white knit stockings and leather shoes with side button closures. She has had no repairs or repaint and no touch-ups although she does have the commonly found age split to one side of her face and wear to her shoes as shown. She has no odors or fading and is from a smoke free home. Her clothing is in excellent condition with no stains or tears, no repairs and no fading. Her very own small Alabama baby doll is NOT included and will be listed separately. See page 20, 16th Blue Book-Foulke. It is believed that her wig and antique locket are from her first owner. Please note: nearly all of our items are antique or vintage (usually with some signs of wear due to usage and previous storage). We do our very best to describe and photograph them for you and do not repair, restring, repaint or enhance them in any way as most collectors prefer to find them in their original state. Please use the zoom feature on our photos as they are an important part of the description. Let us know if we can help you with anything else. We have more antique dollhouse furniture and antique dollhouse dolls available, each listed separately. We appreciate five star reviews. RARE EARLY 20TH CENTURY VINTAGE AME RI CAN FOLK/TRAMP ART HAND CARVED & HAND PAINTED WOODEN KINETIC FIGURATIVE SCULPTURE OF SUITED PATRICIAN GENTLEMAN, W/TOP HAT AND HIDDEN, HINGED ERECT PHALLUS UNDER OV E R C OAT. Early 20th century Ame ri can hand carved & hand painted wooden, sexualized figurative gag toys. 6″- 7″ overall Height (outstretched) and with hinged, weighted’male member’ exposed x 2″ Width x 1″ Depth. For sale is this killer, absolutely wonderful early 20th century Ame ri can vintage Folk art/Tramp art hand carved and hand painted kinetic wooden gag light sculpture of a patrician gentleman, wearing a tuxedo, high top hat and bow tie, properly dressed in a white shirt and sporting a chained eyepiece over one eye. He’s the apparent epitome of the upper crust, well-groomed and well behaved. But surprise, surprise, when the bottom two legs of this bespeckled industrialist or wealthy banking executive are pulled down, out’pops the weasel’ or in more sober and accurately descriptive terms, out comes his hinged white and red painted male phallus, reminding us how his naughty, real and hidden demeanor contradicts the pomp and circumstance of his gentlemanly attire. The male phallus is weighted on one end so that when the legs are pulled down and away from the base of the figure, the hinged phallus shockingly pops up and rudely greets the viewer with a somewhat abrupt, hardly anticipated stage appearance. With the bawdy humor of the early 20th century, it seems culturally grotesque and clearly not politically correct. It is regardless of contemporary cultural considerations, by any measure, terrific. Good to Very Good overall vintage condition. The item “RARE EARLY 20TH C VINT AMERICAN FOLK/TRAMP ART MAN, WithTOP HAT CARVED WOOD FIGURE” is in sale since Wednesday, April 22, 2020. Japanese Antique Map and View of Yokohama, 1861, Rare Early Woodblock Print
Important Japanese complete antique woodblock print map of view of Yokohama, 1861. Hard to find view and map This is one of the earliest maps of Yokohama harbor depicting American, British, Russian and European foreign trade ships, and western merchant visitation buildings of the area known as Gankiro which was restricted and had limited access. The port of Yokohama was surrounded by water to keep foreigners off the Tokaido Road, which was nearby and very dangerous since Samurai often used it to travel to Edo (now the capital of Tokyo). The Shogun also wanted to limit the contact between foreigners and the Japanese people. Beautiful woodblock printed quality, printed on two sheets, immediately frame able. Good displayable condition, original fine condition, just the way we like to find them. Printed on washi (mulberry) paper. Quality: Fine quality for its good age. This woodblock print was printed from washi paper of that day and is in good condition with sharp impressions. Age: It dates, 1861. Provenance: An old Tokyo, Japan collection Extraordinary treasure find. Lifetime guarantee of authenticity: All of our Asian works of art come with our lifetime authenticity guarantee.
