Rare early 18th william & mary oak side chair circa 1730 Quebec turned legs seat

BEAUTIFUL OAK SIDE CHAIR. WILLIAM & MARY PERIOD. About 16″ x 12″ x 31 1/2. 14 1/2 height to seat. Wonderful solid oak side chair. Probably Quebec, Canada, origin. “Picture frame” back with cyma curve borders. Pegged mortise and tenon joint construction. Flat, single plank seat with molded edges, slightly trapezoidal shape, secured with small wooden pegs. Pegged mortise and tenon construction. Block and turned legs and stretcher with “H” form lower stretcher. Full length feet, not cut down. At first, I thought the “picture frame” back was designed to hold some kind of upholstered pad. But that is not correct. It was designed to be open, as indicated by the curved upper and lower borders, fitting flush to the back, and intended to be visible from the front. A similar example is in the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in Manhattan, New York City (visible through wikimedia commons), and another with the non-profit organization Furnishing New France. Strong and sturdy, all joints tight. Fabulous old oak patina. A RARE EXAMPLE OF EARLY EIGHTEENTH CENTURY NORTH AMERICAN FURNITURE. Very Rare Early Victorian William Adams Rococo Teaset with Bird Spout, c. English bone china teapot of rococo form with bird head spout, milk jug, lidded sugar bowl, 5 cups with five saucers all decorated with white ground & multi coloured flowers with heavy scrolled gilding. Pattern no 1180 but not marked. Condition is good with some wear to the gilding a crack to the lid of the sugar bowl and a chip to the beck on the teapot. Some wear to the center of each saucer. Cups 6.6 cm tall x 8.7 cm diameter rim. Saucers 15 cm diameter. Milk jug 11.5 cm tall x 13.5 cm handle to spout. Lidded teapot 21.5 cm tall x 27 cm handle to spout. Early Vintage Ouija Board William Fuld 1919 Antique Very rare. This board is in remarkably good condition. There is a smudge on the sun in the upper left hand corner (see pix). There’s also an indentation on the wood guide but it looks like it’s a natural part of the wood. The legs of the guide need to be glued in place. Comes in a black felt bag. RARE & QUITE EARLY WILLIAM GODWIN GOTHIC REVIVAL TILE after A. THIS IS A LOVELY QUITE RARE GOTHIC REVIVAL ENCAUSTIC TILE MADE AT THE WILLIAM GODWIN FACTORY LUGWARDINE, HEREFORD IN, I WOULD GUESS 1850’s/60’s AFTER THE MEDIEVEALIST WORK OF AGUSTUS WELBY NORTHMORE PUGIN. IT IS DEPICTED IN A TWO COLOUR (YELLOW OCHRE ON RED OCHRE) ENCAUSTIC GLAZE WITH STYLISED FLOWER HEADS INSIDE ENTWINED ROUNDELS IN THE GOTHIC TASTE. ONE THING SHOULD BE MENTIONED IS ITS THICKNESS (A LITTLE OVER 1 [2.5cm]) WHICH I WOULD GUESS INDICATES IT IS A FLOOR TILE RATHER THAN A WALL VARIETY. THE REVERSE HAS THE MENTIONED DOUBLE’W. GODWIN’ MARK – SEE PHOTOGRAPHS AND DETAILS. IT MEASURES 6 (15.25cm) Sq. APPROX; AND IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION FOR A TILE OF ITS TYPE AND AGE, ALTHOUGH THERE IS SOME LIGHT FRITTING TO ITS EDGE APART FROM THIS IT LOOKS TO BE IN EXCELLENT SHAPE (ALTHOUGH IT DOES NEED A CLEAN) – AGAIN SEE PHOTOGRAPHS AND DETAILS.
