What you see will go with the set. There are 4 enamel tea cups and saucers, 2 enamel plates, two glass bottles with silver tops (these are not marked, but I do believe they are some grade of silver), two drinking cups marked on the bottom, 2 large tin containers and one is marked En Route on the top, but has some rust on the bottom. The medium size container has enamel inside and is marked. 2 small containers are marked, but do not have enamel inside. The oval container has enamel inside and is marked as well. There are 3 smaller glass containers (one has pepper in it) with silver lids. The lids are not marked, but I believe these have some grade of silver as well. Small match holder (not marked). Thee are 2 forks marked Hobsonian Silver, 2 forks, 2 spoons marked SSD & ED (Samuel Summer Drew & Ernest Drew). 2 knives marked Henry Hobson and 2 knives marked Piccadilly Circus. All 4 knives have cracked handles. The wicker holder is in fair condition. I noticed that there is some paint flaking off, and most is gone on the pieces. It will need attention to proper cleaning/restoration. There is a lot with the set, so please ask questions, for I may have missed something. There may be what appears to be white streaks on the item, but this is from the overhead light and not on the item itself, unless otherwise noted in the description. There are two people leaning against a fence – two paths lead from them – one to what could be a church and another to a row of houses. In the background are mountains and trees. The people could be two farmers or a couple. Both have hats on, it appears. The whole scene is then circled by a floral and foliage display. All this on one small bowl – a true work of art to be treasured.
Early 19th Century Antique Brass Bell Weight 4LB – Very rare. Probably dates from around 1820. In beautiful used condition. Stamp mark on the top is for. Parnall & Sons of Narrow Wine St, Bristol. The Parnall Family branched out from St Austell in Cornwall to all parts of Cornwall, particularly St Gennys on the north coast, while William Parnall (the founder of Parnall and Sons Ltd) journeyed to Bristol to start a weights and measures business. Around 1820, that business started to expand, as it became more successful, extending the range of services to include cabinet making and shop fitting. Carpentry was at its heart. By 1880, Parnall & Sons Limited. Was one of the largest shop fitting companies in England with over 10,000 people employed all across the country. They had multiple premises in and around Bristol including Fishponds, Narrow Wine Street and Fairfax Street as well as branches in London and Swansea. William Parnall’s son, John Parnall, who is great grandfather to Mark Parnall, Founder of Parnall Group Ltd, expanded the business further and merged it with WT Avery. Another well-known weights and measures brand. The company later demerged but by 1913 the world had turned its attention to War and the pressure on the businesses to contribute to the war effort evolved. Wonderfully tactile object with a weight of history behind it.

15 Pieces of Superb Rare Antique (1920s) English Thomas Forester & Sons “Darby” Phoenix China Ware. Lovely Imari pattern and all in almost perfect condition. The gold gilding is intact and all pieces are free from damage without chips, cracks or crazing. Thomas Forester started business at a small works in the High Street, Longton and he soon took additional premises in Church Street. He demolished the Church Street Works and built the Phoenix works which he completed in 1879. In the beginning of 1883 he took his sons Herbert and Victor into partnership. The company started as Thomas Forester in the 1870s and appeared in the Pottery Gazette regularly during the 1880s. They specialised in the manufacturing of majolica and earthenware. The business was incorporated as a Limited Company in 1891 and by 1893 it was recorded as employing 520 people at the “Imperial and Phoenix Works”. In 1900, the company employed over 700 people in the Staffordshire area and was seen as one of the largest producers of majolica in England in the late 1800s. In their prime, the company had showrooms in London, Paris, Berlin and Vienna. This was due to a combination of World War II when production was very limited and by the Clean Air Act that was introduced in 1956. This move stopped the use of bottle ovens and the business finally closed in June 1959. The work of Thomas Forester & Sons is still present today in the form of antiques. Pre-1900 the company was known for producing a vast range of Majolica. Techniques were later improved, which led to the production of many elaborate art pottery designs including Trogon Ware during the 1920s and 1930s.
