Rare 16 Antique Bohemia Royal Dux Figural Conch Clam Shell Nymph Art Nouveau
RARE ANTIQUE BOHEMIA ROYAL DUX FIGURAL CERAMIC CLAM SHELL GIRL NYMPH ART NOUVEAU. This very special 16 figurine is made by ROYAL DUX BOHEMIA. There are many models I have seen in my research but few come near to this beauty, especially in height because of the raised twin pedestal. The alluring nymph – woman is set on the edge of a beautiful conch shell which has all the characteristics of a natural shell with the colour and the curled edges. She is very appealingly leaning over making a fine picturesque stance. The shape of her head and hair is especially lovely with the hand painted features on her face especially fine. Her clothes cover her hardly concealing her beautiful shape and drape, melding seamlessly with the coral pillars. I have yet to find one so tall.. Set on what looks like a coral with flora and fauna. MEASUREMENTS: HEIGHT 16″ x WIDTH 10 1/2 x 7 1/2″ DEEP. CONDITION: NO DAMAGE OR CHIPS. Commensurate with age. I FOUND THIS ON GOOGLE.. The Dux (Duchcov) factory was established in 1853. Seven years passed without apparent successes. The firm just produced utility porcelain. In 1860 it was bought by Eduard Eichler. The new owner named it Eduard Eichler Thonwaren-Fabrik. The factory started to imitate designs by Copenhagen, Worcester and Sevrés. They were succesful winning even Silver Medal at the Paris exhibition. Eduard Eichler died in 1887. Next three years the company was run by his widow. Her son-in-law, Wilhelm Hans, bought it in 1890. He further developed the factory and in 1897 tarnsformed it into a stock corporation Duxer Porzellanmanufaktur A. The company was rewarded the Grand Prix prize at the world exhibition in St. The company had difficulties to continue production during WWI. They weren’t able to keep prewar quality. Another blow for the company was the Great Depression. After World War II German workers had to leave Czechoslovakia. In 1992 the name of the factory in Duchcov was changed to Porcelánová Manufaktura Royal Dux Bohemia A. Since 1997 it is a part of the “Ceský Porcelán” group. I try to describe all the items as accurately and as honestly as possible, and I always include photos or scans of the actual items. My items are usually vintage or antique, very rarely new, and condition will sometimes reflect this with minor marks, wear on gilding etc. Anything major such as cracks chips or major loss of gilding etc will be pointed out in the description and shown on the photos. If you are still unsure as to the condition etc. International buyers please note. Also take a look at my other items for more Asian, cloisonné, Glass, Antiques, Silver, Bronze, Copper, China, Horn, and many other collectables. Rare Royal Doulton Seriesware Antique Tea Trio – Sheep in Snow H66. Depicting four sheep on the cup and saucer in a. At sunset casting their shadows around them, five sheep on the side plate. Excellent Condition Assured – No cracks, chips, crazing, scratches, restoration or any other kind of damage. Antique and rare, two Royal Doulton mini vases, 1911, HB / LA
These are two very small, very old, very exquisite, mini vases made by Royal Doulton. Both vases are in perfect condition. There are no scratches, cracks, or chips on either piece. The finish on each is also in outstanding condition, without any signs of crazing whatsoever. The bottom marks tell us a lot about these two little fellows, but they don’t tell us everything. These pieces carry the company mark that was in use from 1901 until 1922 at Burslem. After 1922 a similar back stamp was used, however, it was missing the crown. These pieces are quite rare as it was a mark that was not widely used. That last sentence is from an article on the internet, not us! The designers’ inscribed Initials. These initials are done by hand however they are unique in that they are inscribed and not written on the pieces. We believe those are Herbert Betteley’s initials and have done extensive comparisons to validate that assumption. There is a picture included with some comparisons for you. The “a” with the two rectangles one on top of the other is the signature mark used by Lizzie Axford. This came from one source, and we could not find any further information regarding Ms. However, if you search “Royal Doulton, Lizzie Axford” you will see other works credited to her. Those pesky numbers by the rim (7660). They are there, we’ve seen them on other pieces, but we are not sure exactly what they designate. It may be the pattern number, but a pattern number should have a single character before it, these do not. However, there are limited options as to what you are going to find stamped on a Royal Doulton and the pattern number is the only thing that starts to make sense. WE ARE NOT Royal Doulton experts. We did put our time into researching these pieces and believe the information above is accurate. However, we cannot, and do not guarantee this information. What we do guarantee is that we will never, knowingly, put any false or misleading information in any of our listings. Yeah, we’re pretty confident we got the story straight on these vases. Also, please note that none of our prices are set in stone. If you like what you see, but the price is too low, we will raise it for you! Or we can go the other way as well. Just drop us a note; it never hurts to ask. This item is in the category “Antiques\Other Antiques”. The seller is “brad.white” and is located in this country: US. Rare Royal Copenhagen early blue fluted 1/7056 Queen Louise Archive cup antique
A very rare early Royal Copenhagen porcelain blue fluted cup and saucer 1/7056. Cup 1/7056 : 6.8cm high and 9.5cm wide, 1st quality, excellent condition. Saucer 1/7056: 14.5cm diameter and 2.8cm high, 1st quality, excellent condition. Both pieces are 1st quality, excellent condition with no signs of damage and restoration. According to the stamp and manufacturing technique (wooden form was used), the set was produced in ca. This set is particularly interesting because the pattern is extremely rare and did not go into large-scale manufacturing. One can immediately recognize blue fluted elements, however, the decoration is more delicate, rich, and very unusual. The code 1/7056 indicates that it is a blue fluted pattern. There is no single mention of 1/7056 Royal Copenhagen cup on the internet. Similar pieces are referred to as Royal Copenhagen Blue fluted Queen Louise and Archive Blue Fluted. It is a very interesting piece to add to a most exquisite Royal Copenhagen porcelain collection. I highly recommend you doing own research and purchasing this cup!
