VERY RARE & QUITE EARLY A. PUGIN DESIGNED MINTON TILE. THIS IS A LOVELY QUITE RARE TILE MADE AT THE MINTON HOLLINS & Co FACTORY IN THE EARLY PART OF THE COMPANY’S OUT PUT (PROBABLY 1850’s/60’s – SEE CRISPNESS OF DESIGN AND THAT OF THE REVERSE LETTERING) AND WAS DESIGNED BY AGUSTUS WELBY NORTHMORE PUGIN. IT IS DEPICTED IN A FIVE COLOUR GLAZE WITH A FLOWER HEAD PROBABLY A WHITE SNOWDROP? WITH ITS ASSOCIATED LEAVES CONTAINED IN A GEOMETRIC BORDER. APPROX; AND IS IN GOOD CONDITION FOR A TILE OF ITS TYPE, ALTHOUGH THERE ARE A COUPLE OF SMALL GLAZE DEEP CHIPS TO ITS EDGES AND CORNERS APART FROM THESE IT LOOKS TO BE IN EXCELLENT SHAPE (I FORGOT TO GIVE IT A CLEAN SO IT’S A BIT DIRTY) – AGAIN SEE PHOTOGRAPHS AND DETAILS. THIS IS A LOVELY RARE EARLY MINTON TILE FROM AN ICONIC 19th CENTURY DESIGNER MADE AT ONE OF THE GREAT BRITISH FACTORIES THAT’S IN GREAT CONDITION AND WITH A LOW START PRICE SHOULD GET CONSIDERABLE INTEREST FROM ALL COLLECTORS.
