Extraordinary and very early , all cloth ” Baby Land Rag “, “topsy-turvy”, “Topsy & Eva” , black and white doll, circa 1904 , with hand painted features (before they started using the lithographed mask faces) and measuring about, 14 tall. Called, #7 “Two Dolls Combined in One ” as shown in original illustrated, BABYLAND Rag Dolls, catalogue, shown on page 64, “Cloth Dolls”-Linda Edward, she wears all her original clothing as pictured there. One side has shows “Betty” with the most beautiful, blue painted eyes with excellent detail, eyebrows to match her wispy blond painted curls, adorable little nose, blushed cheeks and sweetly painted mouth. Flop her over to find, “Topsy” with thick black hair and dark eyes. They have a cotton-stuffed, linen body, joined at the waist, stuffed heads and mitten-type hands and wear their original fine cotton dresses , as well as their matching, Shaker type bonnets with wide, face-framing ruffled trim and ties. They have no damages or fading, no stains or tears and no repairs, no odors as they are from a smoke free home. Drblk Other Babyland Rag dolls are not included and listed separately. RARE EARLY 20TH CENTURY ANTIQUE’AUNT JEMIMA’ BLACK AME RIC ANA MONUMENTAL UPRIGHT CAST IRON DOORSTOP W/ORIGINAL. Late 19th-early 20th century figurative cast iron doorstops. 13″ Height x 8″ Width 3 ¼ Depth. Offered is this superb and one of the very best late 19th to early 20th century antique Ame ri can hand painted cast iron Aunt Jemima monumental doorstops at least I have ever seen. What makes it special is not only its very large, even monumental size at 13 inches in height, but the wonderful sculptural features that remain crisp and clear and not obscured by later enamel paint, which almost always buries the figurative details of the form in the viscous, thick enamel oil paint. This monumental doorstop now reads as pure Ame ri can folk art sculpture, with its original painted surfaces and remains unbastardized, untouched and undisturbed. That and that alone is enough to make this piece of turn-of- the-century Black Americana interesting enough, never mind the exemplary and extraordinary original painted surfaces. Without any demonstrable flea-bites to its edges, deep abrasions, dents or dings and really without any other kind of deformities that a drop or serious tumble might have caused. It’s nearly flawless and only shows the normal depreciating effects of time. It was discovered on the South Shore of Massachusetts and is estate-fresh and fresh to the marketplace, never having been seen outside of the home where it was found. Not only an extraordinary Ame ri can antique but an extraordinary Ame ri can cultural artifact. Very rare in this kind of well-preserved, untouched, unadulterated original condition. One killer antique painted Aunt Jemima cast iron doorstop. Good to Very Good overall antique condition. Offered here are two cut Fisk signs that make one used but complete Fisk tires sign. Both pieces Found cut and nailed to a garage for siding. Sign has paint / wear rust around edges and condition issues but could display really well. When found it was facing with the back of sign outside, painted with old silver paint. Rare 1941 Fisk tires sign measuring at about 73×25. Heavy metal sign with a Beverly like border. Has some condition issues as seen. Scratch near the makers mark on bottom right, a piece missing on right side edge. Some nail holes through sign. Sign was nailed face in to a shed. Wear/paintloss/surface rust around the border and some slight bending around border as well. Graphics are very good and could still be cleaned more. I just wiped with warm water and a towel. See all photos, ask any questions. Will pack this very carefully.
