This mailbox was originally covered in a redish brown paint. I removed the paint and did a reseasoning of the cast iron. Great condition for the age! Measures aprox 12.5″ tall 6″ wide and mounting bolt holes are 10 on center apart.

Comprising a central plate mounted with a plume holder, both finely overlaid with gold koftgari. The bottom with four-pointed falls. In that application, defense against thrusting attacks which riveted links provide, is essential. Attacks to the head and neck, however are generally slashing or hacking. This example maximizes protection with an extremely dense matrix of fine small links. The decoration suggests that it was made for a warrior of noble birth.
