A lovely silver caddy spoon by Richard Morton Sheffield 1786. This would be one of the earliest silver caddy spoons to be made particularly from a Sheffield silversmith. The spoon is in good order with a fluted shell shaped bowl and plain handle thumb piece. The spoon appears to have made by die stamping or pressing. There thumb piece handle has been lightly monograms with initials in scrolling script. A rare example illustrating the tooling development for caddy spoons in Sheffield with excellent hallmarks in.
