Rare Art Deco POOLE POTTERY Vase Carter Stabler & Adams CSA Shape No 966 White. This is a decorative piece for a period or contemporary interior. This is a fabulous piece of POOLE STUDIO POTTERY from the ART DECO Period, they are sometimes known as Freeform vases. This comes in the sought after shape 966 from the Carter Stabler and Adams period. I have never seen this colour way before. It is a cream or milky white colour and the turning marks from being on the potters wheel can be seen and felt on the inside of this stunning vase. The base is impressed with POOLE ENGLAND in a rectangular mark and the numbers 966. This is in MINT condition with no chips, cracks or restoration and it stands 10 inches tall. This will look great in a contemporary minimalist interior, or likewise would be striking in an ART DECO or Modernist collection. A superb Art Deco octagonal facet cut glass vase decorated with alternating panels cut with stylised rounds and ovals, circa 1920s-30s, likely designed by Josef Hoffman. The vase measures, 16.5cm tall and 11.5cm in diameter. The vase is in very good condition, there are a couple of tiny nibbles to bottom edge of two of the panels, which aren’t visible until turned upside down, please see picture 5. Here’s an antique chatelaine clip dating to c. 1st quarter 20th century. It is constructed of metal with a strong gilt finish. The top of the clip is set with a scarab made of turquoise glass with gold painted details. It suspends a trio of textured chains, each with its original spring clasp. I have not seen such a design before. Unsigned, possibly of Czech origin. DIMENSIONS: total length 7 1/4; scarab setting measures 27x21mm.
