An Extremely Early Lantern Clock by Daniel Hoskins London? Display at Bateman’s, National Trust East Sussex, Former Jacobean. Home of Rudyard Kipling. Both that one and mine have near Identical. Engraving on the Dial showing Three Skeletons Father Time, the Grim. Also, the Latin: Nobilem ex Rustico. Talis eram qualis es. And Talis eris qualis sum. Google “Bateman’s Daniel Hoskins Clock” for Image. Ultra Rare and (in my opinion) only needing weights, long pendulum and. A few hours labour to make it work again. Height to Finial Top 39cms. Steel flex from Pendulum top is present. I have been told it would need. A weight in excess of 5kgs, no less, to activate mechanism. I have not myself tried the mechanism. Rare chance to own an almost 400 year old Early lantern Clock. No similar clock to compare value so open to Offers.
