This listing is for. An exquisite and large antique screen of the early 19th Century, circa 1840. Fine and extremely rare. Four 18th century portraits, oil on canvas. Images below each portrait show flora, birds and a dolphin within Rococo scrolling. The back of the screen is relatively plain with minor floral motifs on a plain background. Provenance: Ayton Castle, Berwickshire. Each panel measures 26″ wide x 72″ high. Size overall: 72″ high x 104″ wide when fully open. Condition: VERY GOOD and without any major damage – could be improved upon with a suitable binding around each panel; two portraits have repairs across their torsos; the reverse shows marks.
