Antique Collectibles from ShangriLa. 1500 Best Offer Items/. Rare Ca 1700 Early Kangxi Chinese Porcelain green-ground’Brinjal’ bowl Funghi. Kangxi period and amazing quality bowl with flaring rim, incised with flowering magnolia trees, picked out in ochre, brown and white glazes, the interior with a single lingzhi fungus. Brinjal’ family type of decoration. A special type of Kangxi period porcelain bowls were bisque fired without a porcelain glaze and decoration with incised floral patterns and the decorated with white, yellow and green on a purple ground are specifically known as’brinjal bowls’. They also occur with other enamels such as aubergine, yellow or green as grounds, with the other colors used for the decoration. When white, the unglazed porcelain body is shown through a thin layer of clear glaze. The’brinjal family’ decorations occurs from late Ming, and stylistically develop during the Kangxi period – together with the Wanli wucai five color enamels – into the famille noire and the famille jaune decorations. A very nicely decorated bowl with a lovely octagonal shape. The porcelain is very thinly potted, it’s either transitional or early Kangxi period. Overall Condition A; 1chip to rim only. Size 194mm diameter and 89mm high. 17th century Qing (1661 – 1912). We can not control this. For China (& rest of Asia) & US allow at least 2 to 3 weeks. Rare Antique Abp Huge 11 1/2 9 Lb. Early Signed Hawkes Cut Glass Salad Bowl

This is an absolutely beautiful huge signed Hawkes 11 1/2 salad bowl cut in a beautiful pattern on an ultra clear super heavy 9 LB. The hobstar in the center of this bowl really has no equal and is probably the best example of this motif that I have seen. Definitely cut by a master cutter. The clarity, thickness, and weight of this piece is outstanding. In some spots this blank is 5/8 thick. This piece has numerous chips to the teeth and two are pretty serious, but I think it could all be recut and it would be hard to know. The rest looks pretty good with a couple small chips here or there in the pattern. All in all a fantastic piece in need of some restoration. I handle a lot of glass and this is a very nice piece.
