Offering this antique unique wood riser board. Measures 19″ L x 8.5″ W x 2 T. Believed to be a peel board, holding the lollipop end and the other end has a slanted edge. The back has one wood riser as seen. Has a great patina and natural surface and in good overall condition. The lollipop has added trim nail repair on the side as seen in pic 3 and board has age lines but nothing loose. I loved the unique look and surface. Perhaps one of a kind. Nice addition to your collection.

For sale is a very early 19th century American carved wood wash board. This is a very primitive early design, likely made around the time the wash board was invented in the 1830s. It’s made from a single piece of hardwood and has hand carved grooves on both sides. Also features a hand painted flower design on the top. You can tell by the wear along the top edge of the wood, the paint was already there before the wear. The wash board has a beautiful patina from use over nearly 200 years! The grooves have partly worn down, especially in the middle, and have attained a smooth finish. This is from many years of use scrubbing clothes. The wash board measures 54cm long by 12cm wide (21″ x 4 3/4″). This is a very rare piece of American washing history! There are very few wash boards of this age left in existence, especially in this condition. It’s a museum quality piece, you won’t be disappointed. We use Australia Post and only charge the actual cost of sending. All fragile items will be packed with void fill and bubble wrap in a box. EARLY ROBERT MOUSEMAN CHEESE BOARD WITH SIGNATURE MOUSE ON THE BOARD c1950. An early Robert Mouseman Thompson cheese board with the signature mouse placed on the board. Mouseman cheese boards with the mouse on the board were only produced up until 1960, after this date the mouse was repositioned onto the handle to provide more strength. It is in used condition and has visible signs of use including knife marks on top of the board, the signature mouse has also suffered under the knife with very little tail left (please see pictures). It is a medium oak colour and measures 37cms long and 118cms wide. A good early piece of Mouseman, approximately 70 years old. It will be very carefully packaged and sent tracked and signed. Collected in the first half of the twentieth century this striking board comes from the Eastern Kimberley and would have belonged to the Gija People. A similar group of boards were collected by Tom McCourt and are attributed to the Gidji sic and are documented in his book – Aboriginal Artefacts page 54 and 55. I owned and handled several of Tom McCourts boards and this one has very similar paintwork with the exception that the carving underneath on this example is a simple diamond outline to one side. The board shows great signs of use and has an encrusted surface and dry patina. It measures 78cm x 14.5cm.
