Offering this rare antique lion. Measures 8″ x 4″ x 6 T. It’s in good overall condition with a nice glaze consisting of brown and yellow. Has crazing and the vintage crackled surface from age…. There is few minor spots of loss and abrasions on the edges as seen but no major cracks or lines.
This is a nice RARE VERY EARLY JULIUS NORTON BENNINGTON VT COBALT BLUE FLORAL STONEWARE CROCK/CHURN. THE FLORAL FACE IS BEAUTIFUL WITH NO LOSS. It is in USED UTILITARIAN condition. It is obviously missing an ear, has glaze loss, cracks and a chip at the base. That is why it’s priced low. From the from the front it looks ok. It measures 11″h x 7.5″w at rim and 8.5w base. A great gift for any beginning collector of Norton Pottery, Bennington Pottery, Cobalt, Crocks, etc.. You just don’t see the Julius Norton Churns much. Other Bennington VT Nortons (and they’re many), Yes. Usually when they got to this state they were smashed on a rock. It’s kinda amazing this one’s still around.
