Stunning NEIGER Art Noveau Brooch. Absolutely Rare example of well known maker from bohemia/Today czech republic/. Some you dont see every day, use of early types of plastic make it absolutely extremely rare as this maker use it only on few occasions, known only on few pieces. This is true collector item and you may never find same again. Based in pressed brass metal with central Galalith plastic cushion cabochon/as used in Egypt and China series/ and sides simulated. Pearls/glass/, with cold painted enamel on flowers. Dating to early 1900’s. It is about 5 cm x 3.7cm. It is in very good condition, with some wear to enamel and few bits of metal with small oxidation/ darkening to metal as seen in photos. All present, galalith central piece in very good condition, even simulated seed pearls/milk glass/ mounted set on string that is then glued to. Sides/not glued each beed as in later imitations as seen in last two pics/ intact, clip works perfect. There is not makers mark as in most cases of this type, but absolute signs of NIEGER makers are there, with absolutely high quality. As known hallmarks for this maker. Early gate marked primitive rustic cast iron cauldron marked “D&M” New Brighton, PA on bottom of the pot. Nice and solid piece with no chips, breaks, or cracks. Rare Antique Wemyss Ware Small Black & White Pig marked Wemyss – Post 1930. A Rare Genuine Wemyss Pottery Pig. This splendid pottery pig is hand decorated by Joe Nekola with sponged black on white, hand painted mark’Wemyss’ to base in black. Very Good Condition- no chips, cracks or restoration but has usual crazing to glaze typical of Wemyss and a tiny bit of glaze toss to his right ear (see photos to aid description). Joseph (Joe) Nekola was the son of Karel Nekola and joined the pottery in 1899. He spent two years in Buffalo, USA from 1910-12 before returning to the pottery for a short period. His final stint was between 1928 and 1930, when the factory closed. Joe negotiated the sale of the moulds etc. To the Bovey Tracey pottery in Devon and moved there to continue producing Wemyss Ware.
