A rare and superb late 19th Century anatomical wall chart depicting the human skeleton, marked. Schreiber’s Anatomische Wandtafeln’. It comes from the workshop of Ferdinand Schreiber, whose Munich-based publishing house was established in 1831. It is printed onto heavy canvas-backed paper with a fold in the centre for storage. Excellent original condition with minimal fading, original wooden poles to top and bottom, and without tears. Marked in writing to the reverse “Das Knochengerust”, meaning “The Skeleton”. Colours remain strong with light foxing and toning throughout. These came from a large collection of antique engravings, lithographs and prints etc from various disbound books and portfolios.
