Antique French early 19th c old toile RARE Stag Deer toile de Alsace c1820
LOVELY and so very very rare. I’ve never seen this wonderful toile before! This lovely textile is French and dates from the early 1800’s. This textile was once a bed curtain and has the most wonderful scalloped top! Peeking under the scalloped edge you can see more of the wonderful toile!! This textile is backed in a finely woven linen and cotton blend and there is a light cotton batting between the layers. It’s hand quilted in a light , diamond pattern. This panel is hand stitched along the edges and the scalloped top section is trimmed with a homespun linen , all hand stitched. A STUNNING and rare toile! The tones have faded beautifully with time to a beautiful pink and rosy red tone This textile has a hem using red thread to shorten the panel, just under the scallop. These red threads can be removed easily. MEASUREMENTS : The wonderful antique toile measures : 20 inches wide by 107 inches long. CONDITION: This textile is in as found, unwashed condition with storage dust. There ares some glorious hand stitched mends on this piece there is some light damage along the side edge The top of the panel has faded with time and just above the scallop the front fabric has little tears from sun damage. Please use the zoom feature to view condition closely Generally in lovely condition, however certainly not without signs of time and use often inherent in these wonderful textiles. Measures 10 5/8″ high with the square base measuring 3 5/8″ in diameter. Weights 2.6 pounds. This gorgeous obelisk is in excellent Estate condition with only some small nicks in the marble as expected with items of this age. The flaws are minor no-harm nicks around the bottom edges otherwise the piece is in excellent Estate condition. The Pietra Dura is in excellent condition with no noted flaws. Rare Early 19th C. Primitive American Wood Nesting Bowl Set c. 1840

Rare Early 19th C. Primitive American Wood Nesting Bowl Set c. 1840
Primitive American Wood Nesting Bowl Set. Primitive American Wood Nesting Bowl Set, circa 1750 – 1800. We also feature a growing selction of high-end contemporary & early American furniture. FREE PICK-UP IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. Up for your consideration is a finw and quire rare set of early American turned wood nesting bowls. They were made in the latter half of the 18th century (circa 1750 – 1800), and are quite large with the outer bowl measuring 19 an impressive diameter. They are made of hand-turned wood, and the largest three of the four have raised lips on the outer rim. The set is acually somewhat oval, as all 4 bowls are somewhat longer than wide. The largest bowl actually measures 19″ x 18″ x 6″, and the smallest one measures 13″ x 12.25″ x 3.75″. Because they are all oriented in this way, this was obviously intended by the maker. The outer 3 bowls were definitely part of a set, but the inner bowl may be an addition, as it has no outer lip. Interestingly, it is a perfect fit. The set is in excellent condition with one minor concern: there is a crack 3.5 crack on the second largest bowl that occurred from the normal drying of the wood. It has been professionally filled, and heas no effect on the structural integrity or shape of the bowl. In many years of collecting antique, this is the finest example of earlt American turned wood bowls that I have seen. This quote is for the Continental U.
