Original Rare Wemyss Ware Vase / Bowl c 1920s Jazzy / Moorland Pattern
This is a rare and beautiful original Wemyss bowl from the first pottery in Fife Scotland. After the first world war Wemeyss ware went out of fashion. The 1920s were known as the Jazz Age so the then head designer, Edwin Sandland introduced the Jazzy range in an attempt to regain business, it didn’t work and they went out of business in 1930 and moved the whole business down to Devon, this piece was made around 1920 before the move to Bovey Tracy in Devon. The fact that this range didn’t save the company gives it that rarity value. The bowl is 11 cm in diameter and 13 cm high. This item is in the category “Pottery, Ceramics & Glass\Decorative Pottery, Ceramics & Glass\Figurines”. The seller is “cosmicjive1″ and is located in this country: GB. 4 Rare Antique 1920's Fenton Carnival Pink Glass 5 Open Swan Open Salt Dishes
Offering four, individual matching, iridescent pink carnival glass Fenton open dish swans. These original ones are very rare. Swans belonged to my great aunt and I was told she used them to hold mints on her dinner table during parties but in the old catalogs they are called, open salts or match holders. This set of four is from the 1920’s before Dugan bought the molds. I did my best in the photos to catch their true color but it was extremely difficult. I would call them Pink. Yet there is a shimmering iridescence that brings out other colors like gold and orange. Typical of Carnival Glass. The swans measure 5 1/4″ nose to tail and 2.5″ across the wings and are very detailed in the glass. They are not perfect. Along the top edge of one swan’s wing there are some tiny nicks. I have noted it in the photos. I also found a rough spot on the tail of one although you cannot see any chip in the glass. It might be a rough place left unpolished when it came out of the mold. I have also noted it in the photos. The bottom is collared but not marked. Thank you for stopping! This item is in the category “Pottery & Glass\Decorative Pottery & Glassware\Figurines”. The seller is “enter2k” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped worldwide.

With reference to its base marks, this fine “Abigail” figurine is hand painted with the artists signature visible. It has been in the family for generations and can safely assume that it was painted circa. With reference to more modern versions of “Abigail” which are apparently not hand painted, the positioning and details of the painted flowers on the white dress are quite different and thus unique. The Labrador dog itself is clearly differently painted to that seen on more recent reproductions. When Wedgwood took over Coalport in 1967 they did a number of reproductions of figurines. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL RUN, AND IS NUMBERED “54” ON THE BASE. This offering is in a excellent condition and unblemished in all respects and do justice to serious collectors of Coalport fine china wares. IT appears to have a number “33”, but I could be mistaken. Additional photo’s are available on request. All statements made in good faith and based on recent research. I obtained about 80 tube radios from an estate sale. I will be listing these over the next few weeks so please see my other listings. IF YOU ARE A CRYSTAL RADIO COLLECTOR, HERE IS YOUR CHANCE. This listing is for a MELOMITE “THE MAGIC RADIO”. SOLID OAK AND DOVETAILED BODY… The inside original label give it a great look. No cracks or chips in wood body. Sits nice and flat with no wobble. Very light signs of age as seen in pictures. Looks to be complete but please see pictures and use your own judgement. I have no way of testing this. These radios are highly collectable and are getting harder to find online. It will be protected well and insured. Let me know if you have questions.
