RARE LATE 1800s / EARLY 1900s NEW ZEALAND MAORI LARGE CARVED PATU / WAHAIKA CLUB. It really does have quite a bit of age about it, but what is most fascinating are the notches to the top at the rear, their significance is unknown. The carved wooden Wahaika is in original untouched condition, no attempt has been made to polish / restore / clean it. It measures 36cms long & is 10.5cms wide at the top.
