Early Antique Vintage Carved Wood Nupe Stool Chair Table African Tribal Art Rare

A wonderful antique carved’Nupe’ or’Spider’ stool. A genuine early example of traditional African craftsmanship, caved from a single lump of African harwood, the stool is raised on seven tapering legs. The top is beautifully docorated with traditional Nupe geometric carvings & has the most beautiful depth of colour with a wonderful patina. W: 45.5cm (17.9). D: 46.5cm (18.3). Wear commensurate with age, good overall. An antique rather than a cheap tourist piece & came from an amazing collection of early tribal art, both the top & one of the legs show signs of old repairs to cracks which do notghing to detract.
