Very Rare Antique Toy P. F. Volland Raggedy Ann & Andy Dolls Circa Early 1920’s
Posted by admin On August 6, 2020
This listing is for an indeed rare pair of antique P. They have been in my collection for many years, safely displayed in a closed cabinet, in a temperature controlled environment, out of direct sunlight. The few age related flaws have not changed while I’ve had them. So that’s how I’ve decided to pass them on to the next owner, as a pair. I’ve made no changes to them, and can find no changes or repairs to either doll that were done by the previous owner, other then a few tiny stitches to Ann’s apron (pictured). Andy’s clothes have never been removed. The Andy dolls were all dressed at the same time they were assembled. The clothes were never intended to come off. His plaid shirt and blue pants are in wonderful condition with all the original mother of pearl buttons. He’s wearing his original cap, still secured from the factory. Ann is wearing her original pale blue dress (a bit faded) pantaloons and pinafore. All original buttons are present. The top of her pinafore is no longer gathered so I added a small safety pin for closure. She has a thin spot in the material under her smile and a small slit in the fabric of her left leg. I’ve pictured both of her arms where they connect to her body. They have had no repairs or needed to be reinforced. She has a heart in her chest and her patent stamp on her back, showing her to be an early doll dating to the early 1920’s. This pair is a true treasure. Thank you for your interest. The item “VERY RARE ANTIQUE TOY P. F. VOLLAND RAGGEDY ANN & ANDY DOLLS CIRCA EARLY 1920’S” is in sale since Saturday, July 25, 2020. Very rare a genuine ancient early Iron-Age socketed axehead
Posted by admin On August 1, 2020
From my own collection, a genuine ancient early Iron-Age European socketed axe head. The artefact was heavily rusted and has been carefully cleaned to remove rust/debris and has been treated and stabilized. The early use of iron was first employed into known bronze-age patterns and techniques, hence the first axe heads where socketed.. A rare chance to own one of these rare early iron age artefacts. See picture for condition. Date: circa 500 century BC Size: length apx 125mm For your own benefit, please read the information given below. Ancient artefacts are finite, less are being discovered as time passes, and of course at some point in the future there will be no more. Consequently, investment in antiquities is rising. But, as availability decreases across the whole spectrum of ancient artefacts, investment is proving to be provident and wise, and most of all, for the sheer pleasure of owning a piece of ancient history. We also see modern jewellery items passed off as ancient artefacts by having a false patina applied to them. You will soon be able to see the difference between what a fake and real artefact look like – and what they should look like. We also encourage buyers to ask sellers questions, and if possible have the item you have bought verified that it is actually an ancient artefact. Or go to your local museum where you may find an expert who could identify the item. When we are certain an item is fake, we destroy it, at our own loss, so that fakes cannot re-enter the market. Please view our other items, thank you for looking and good luck. The item “Very rare a genuine ancient early Iron-Age socketed axehead” is in sale since Sunday, July 19, 2020. This item is in the category “Antiques\Antiquities\Roman”. The seller is “britannia-antiquities” and is located in Preston. This item can be shipped worldwide.
