RARE SIZE & PATTERN Early 1800s Pennsylvania Redware Slipware Plate 6 3/4 NM
Early 1800’s Pennsylvania Redware slipware plate. This is a rare size and measures only 6 3/4 in diameter. Beautiful pumpkin color with vibrant yellow slip. The yellow slip decoration is in a very rare three line swirl design. Very finely done uniform coggling around the rim. The plate has a few very fine scratches, and crazing consistent with age. There is one very small area of glaze loss in the center of the plate. No chips, hairlines, or repairs. Guaranteed to be a very rare and early plate. I collected slipware for almost 40 years and had an extensive collection of plates. This is the best of the best. Offered at a fraction of what I paid, and a fraction if its current value. This and one other spectacular plate that I have yet to list are the gems of my collection. Rare And Early Wooden 400 Day, Torsion, Anniversary Four Glass Clock
Rare And Early Wooden 400 Day, Torsion, Anniversary Four Glass Clock. A very rare and early 400 Day, Torsion, Anniversary clock. Not seen one like this before, nicely made by’Badische U hrenfabrik’ who I believe were German makers? Their logo (‘B’ in a crescent moon) is found on the movement. The movement itself is in good sleepy condition but would require a full clean and service for it to work well. The disc pendulum is spinning a little whilst there has been a repair at the top of it (see photos). This movement is very unusual as it has Lantern pinions almost unknown on Torsion clocks. There is also a very unusual top crest to it, must be quite rare. Nice original disc pendulum while the dial is not the usual one that you see, possibly celluloid and is nicely patterned while the hands are nicely shaped. The four glass case is wooden which has been stained/polished red, so will need repolishing as it has scuffs, dings and scratches consistent with age. All four glasses are present, the front of which is bevelled. A nice early and rare model of a popular genre of clocks. Measures 12in tall x 6.25in wide x 6.25in deep approx. I do not sell reproduction items or copies, I also do not clean or restore my items but prefer to offer them in a genuinely sleepy state ready for professional restoration. I often do have items for sale that are in superb’ready to use’ condition and have many satisfied clients built up over 20 years. Please see my feedback. I always pack my items very well and securely using appropriate materials. Please note that as all shippers refuse to insure antique clocks in transit I cannot offer a guarentee for their safe arrival, but will always ensure that they are well protected in transit and with a recognised courier. In the unlikely event of a problem, please contact me first so that I can have the opportunity to arrange a solution. Antique Bulgarian beaded bottle with strap. 8″ tall by 4″ wide. Very Good Condition – seam has come apart along bottom edge; loose threads where strap is sewn to bottle; no serious damage. This listing is for a stunning handmade beaded bottle from Bulgaria. I believe this dates to the end of the 19th/early 20th century and features remarkable craftsmanship and design. Incorporated traditional motifs, the Bulgarian flag held by lions? , the letter “B” (in Cyrillic), floral elements, and chickens or roosters. These are very rare items and the beading on this one is phenomenal – hands down one of the nicest examples I have ever seen of this type of work. The strap is also very well made and features the same zig-zag motif that goes around the top of the bottle. A tour de force and a welcome addition to any collection. We strive to keep our customers happy and we look forward to your feedback! Thank you for your interest in our auctions and we look forward to hearing from you. 14 inches (35cm) tall x 9 inches (22cm) wide x 6 (15cm) in depth. Early 20th Century Indian, Ethnographic, used dance mask. My research suggests is a Rajbansi Tribe Raja Or Village Hero. Although, the cerebral palsy, sideways-lips makes me wonder if is a dual-meaning mask. It appears he is wearing a ribbed turban. Tons of character and use here. Multiple layers of old paint. Indian continues to be the least documented mask-cultures for some reason which is a shame. This one, coming from a much harder-to-reach jungle area than most if my assertions of origin are correct. The Island of Sri Lanka sits right below S. The influences are clear here. I have collected two others from this region and style over the years. I’d love to sell them as a family. I’d be happy to take off 20% off the group of three. Its also deeply carved, and over-sized as many masks from the Sri Lanka region typically are. Notable black painted beard at one point on the chin area. Patina on the back is heavy around the upper ends of the “rectangular area”, where the wearer once held the mask to their face. Deep dark patina on the back side bridge in the turban area from where the performer casual held the mask in a stand-by pose. The eye-cut-outs further reinforce any suspicions of this piece’s cultural accuracy. Bright, beautiful, and cosmetically stunning. The partially worn double red lines over the nose once were full half-moons, cuped, upside down. Hindu meaning is unknown to me. Piece once had bug activity. This item has since chilled in freezing temperatures in the Maine winter. I believe this region has now been included to UNESCO’s Intangible cultural assets list in 2009. Many of my other masks from my collection are for sale: Check out my other items.
