A Rare Very Early Antique Noritake Twin Handled Lidded Floral Pastel Vase c1902
A Rare Very Early Antique Noritake Twin Handled Lidded Floral Pastel Vase c1902. A beautiful and very rare, early Noritake twin-handled, lidded floral vase bearing the single blue Noritake Komura mark to the base, dating the vase to >1902. The vase is of a beautiful four-footed pedestal form with twin open-top handles and lid with pointed finial. The vase is intricately hand-decorated with pink, purple and yellow blossoms with foliage and beautiful gilt beading and scrollwork on a white and turquoise ground. A really wonderful, early collector’s item. The vase is in quite remarkable condition with no chips or cracks to the body even the handles are good! But there is a little rubbing to the gilt around the topmost rim. The lid has been broken but professionally restored with the damage almost invisible to the outside. A really good piece of sympathetic repair. Please see photographs for more information. The vase is 33cm high (including lid), 14cm diameter, 1063g weight. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like further details or pictures. Please see my other items which include a number of pieces of Noritake porcelain.

This is a lovely and fine pair of RARE Antique Old Early California Landscape Paintings (2), watercolor on paper, by early 20th century California Impressionist painter, Stanley Louis Rubens b. These artworks depict lovely and delicately rendered California landscape scenes. The painting on the left displays a colorful forested scene at sunset, with the warm orange glow of the setting sun illuminating the distant sky. In the foreground, a winding creek flows across the scene. The painting on the right displays a masterful landscape scene, with a placid lake nearby and an azure sky above. Both of these artworks are signed: S. Rubens in the lower right corners. These artworks are undated, but very likely date to the mid – late 1910’s, after the artist had settled in Los Angeles in 1914. Rare Antique Children Carousel Elefant, Germany early 20th Century
Rare Antique Children Carousel Elefant, Germany early 20th Century. A wooden carved children’s carousel elephant with polychrome painting, made in Germany around 1910. Unrestored original condition, partially repainted, signs of wear commensurate with age, some missing parts. A great change for your interior decoration. The first carousel horses were created in the 18th century for the entertainment of aristocrats. The enthusiasm spread to broad sections of the population and the Vienna Prater was opened with a carousel in 1766. Germany developed into a center of carousel construction. Famous manufacturers included Friedrich Heyn, Hermann Thümmel, Karl Müller and Fritz Botmann. The artfully carved horses and classic carriages were supplemented with exotic animals such as lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras and elephants. Pioneers of the first generation of showmen in the United States were Gustav A. Loof and Frank Hrubetz, who designed and constructed great rides. The world wars of the 20th century meant the end of carousel art. Many originals were destroyed and replaced by plastic copies.
