Kangxi period and amazing quality bowl with flaring rim, incised with flowering magnolia trees, picked out in ochre, brown and white glazes, the interior with a single lingzhi fungus. Brinjal’ family type of decoration. A special type of Kangxi period porcelain bowls were bisque fired without a porcelain glaze and decoration with incised floral patterns and the decorated with white, yellow and green on a purple ground are specifically known as’brinjal bowls’. They also occur with other enamels such as aubergine, yellow or green as grounds, with the other colors used for the decoration. When white, the unglazed porcelain body is shown through a thin layer of clear glaze. The’brinjal family’ decorations occurs from late Ming, and stylistically develop during the Kangxi period – together with the Wanli wucai five color enamels – into the famille noire and the famille jaune decorations. A very nicely decorated bowl with a lovely octagonal shape. The porcelain is very thinly potted, it’s either transitional or early Kangxi period. Overall Condition A; 1chip to rim only. 17 Marie Cruchet French Fashion With Rare Body. The perfect pressed bisque head has no markings. The cobalt blue eyes are in their original plaster set. No cracks, chips or hairlines. There is a prominent mold line on right side of head. Original cork pate and original mohair wig. Fabulous and very rare body. Long bisque arms with tenon joints at shoulders. The kid leather is stretched over wood and is jointed at hips and knees and is in wonderful condition with no tears or patches. The leather is soft and supple and will last another 150 years. I have never seen this body before. The closest I have seen is the so-called “baggy pants” but this is much more complicated with no baggy leather. The middle finger on the right arm has been repaired. Lovely clothing as pictured and I believe the dress is original. The trim has all been hand sewn. Freshly CleanedVery Rare Early 1970’s Stumpy Gabrielle Designs Paddington Bear. This wonderful little chap is a real gem and collectors piece, a very rare early 1970’s Stumpy in gorgeous clean, fluffy and near mint condition. Paddington himself would have been made pre registration, having no registration silk label on his back and slightly bigger than the later Stumpies. He has the luggage label showing registration and he would have been made just before they were starting to register their bears, which was in 1972. This makes him 47 years old! In 1971, Shirley Clarkson first made Paddington bears to give to friends and family. These bears which were made just before this Paddington I have listed were slightly different. Much smaller almost flat dimpled nose with no peak, rounder face and high set forward facing eyes. This was the start of the beloved Gabrielle Designs Paddington Bear. Why is this early Stumpy bear so special? These early Stumpy bears had no silk label on their backs. The next generation Stumpies had a small silk label showing Gabrielle Designs, hand made in Britain with registration number. Later bears, mid to late 1970’s have a much larger label stating countries of registration. It will also show 1972 at the bottom. This is not the year that bear was made. This is the year Gabrielle Designs Registered their bears, 1972. Due to the popularity, these later bears became more mass produced. Later bears had no dimples and are larger. Slightly larger body than the later Stumpies. Hand stuffed making them stockier and firm. Wider space between the legs. Luggage label “Please look after this bear”, without the “Thank you”. Stumpy, circular felt foot pads, with no hint of a toe. Later bears were oval shaped as a toe was added, when upset children saw that their Paddington’s had no feet! Size 4 Dunlop Wellies. Thicker wool felt coat, that really kept it’s shape. He has had a treatment at Paddington Spa, meticulously cleaned from sticky marmalade sandwiches! , brushed and most importantly… Treated incase of any hidden moth larvae that can lye hidden. I have not used any insecticide, just a good old fashioned method, that I have found works. I do this to all my Paddington’s and their original clothes. Nobody wants moths hatching in their home and especially not Paddington now he is all freshly cleaned and brushed, ready for his new home. As can be seen in the many pictures, he has come up looking clean and fluffy and would make a wonderful gift for someone special or even a gift to yourself. This is in great condition no tears or marks, very slight creasing. Original Gabrielle Blue Dunlop Wellies, size 4. Immaculate, clean inside and out and shiny. Bright eyes, perfectly aligned and unscratched. Cutest strawberry dimpled nose, clean and unscratched. Circular cinnamon felt feet intact, no moth holes. Original Paddington vintage card train ticket to tuck into his pocket. I have many vintage tickets and happy to change to a ticket close to where you live or a place of fond memories. I will always mention any defects, moth holes and include them in my photos. The price of my Paddington’s reflects the time it takes to meticulously and carefully clean them, bringing them back to near enough the condition they were in, the day they were first made. The cleaning process takes time but is worth it in the end to see the end result and receive the feedback from happy buyers. Her bisque head is free from any hairlines, damage or restoration, only smallest chip at her eye (photo). She has nice pale bisque with beautiful blue glass eyes, with wonderful spirals. She is on her original kid leather body with and composition hands feet. She also has her original ornate key attachment. When wound, she cries mama as she turns her head back and forth and raises her hands up and down. She has a wonderful mohair wig.
