17 Marie Cruchet French Fashion With Rare Body. The perfect pressed bisque head has no markings. The cobalt blue eyes are in their original plaster set. No cracks, chips or hairlines. There is a prominent mold line on right side of head. Original cork pate and original mohair wig. Fabulous and very rare body. Long bisque arms with tenon joints at shoulders. The kid leather is stretched over wood and is jointed at hips and knees and is in wonderful condition with no tears or patches. The leather is soft and supple and will last another 150 years. I have never seen this body before. The closest I have seen is the so-called “baggy pants” but this is much more complicated with no baggy leather. The middle finger on the right arm has been repaired. Lovely clothing as pictured and I believe the dress is original. The trim has all been hand sewn.
