I cannot locate any other examples of this design, nor the’Disraeli’ ribbon mark. It’s clearly an early example of Staffordshire Aesthetic Transferware, but there is no record I can find of a maker using the name,’Disraeli’. There are other examples of Disraeli dedicated, & “themed” items, but nothing with this mark, & the design itself is utterly unlike any other I’ve seen. Hard to make out, but the impressed stamp also leads one to give this baby an early date. I’m thinking about 1860. It’s in fantastic shape, considering its age & likely distance traveled in its life. Terrific crazing showing its age beautifully! No significant chips not repairs apparent anywhere.

Please feel free to make an offer. I believe this is a Large Early 17th Century Unusual & Rare Antique Key, but please do your own research. It has a great shape, quality & a very tactile & a nice item. It is handmade & not hollow but of solid construction. In expected condition for an item of this age & nature. The opening mechanism is very elaborate. You can also see historical wear marks on the shaft from the door plates. Approx just over 7 1/2 in total length & weights approx 194 grams. It’s shaft is slightly tampered & turning handle is quite elaborate. I’d expect it was for a Castle door or certainly a prestigious building of some sort. Please study the images as they also form part of the description & please do your own research. This item is in the category “Antiques\Architectural Antiques\Locks, Latches & Keys”.
