A very rare to find antique Edwardian era Minton porcelain breakfast tea trio comprising: – an oversized breakfast tea cup. Height 8cm, diameter 9.5cm – a large saucer. Diameter 16.3cm – a luncheon/salad plate. The items are enamelled with a lovely light turquoise/blue ribbon pattern. Marked as shown, date between 1912 and 1921 approximately. Condition: the plate shows minor discolouration and wear to the glaze as well as some wear to the gilding on the rim; there is a small chip on the base, it doesn’t affect use or display but mentioned for accuracy; the saucer has minor wear to the gilding on the rim; the cup appears to have hardly been used as the gilding is pristine and there is no tea discolouration inside; please refer to the photos for detail. Extremely Rare Royal Doulton Seriesware Trio – Maori Art E4988. Scene/Title: Frieze of a Maori design. Series Issued: 1907 – 1939. Tea Cup: Height: 2 inches (5.1 cm), Width: (rim to handle) 4 inches (10.1 cm), Diameter Top: 3 1/8 inches (7.9 cm), Base Diameter: 2 7/8 inches (7.3 cm). Saucer: Diameter: 5 3/8 inches (13.6 cm). Side Plate: Diameter: 6 1/8 inches (15.4 cm) approx. Perfect Condition Assured – No cracks, chips, crazing, restoration or any other kind of damage. Very minor wear from usage. Some minor wear to the gold trim in places to the side plate. Neither observation detracts from this extremely rare set and I mention for complete accuracy see pics. Rare Royal Doulton Seriesware Antique Tea Trio – Sheep in Snow H66. Depicting four sheep on the cup and saucer in a. At sunset casting their shadows around them, five sheep on the side plate. Issued: 1916 – The date of withdrawal is not recorded. This piece can be dated to pre 1922. Side Plate Diameter: 7 inches (17.7 cm) approx. Excellent Condition Assured – No cracks, chips, crazing, scratches, restoration or any other kind of damage. There is a factory flaw to the base edge of the tea cup where there appears to have been a fold during the firing process causing the outer glazing to not take properly. Does not detract too much from this rare set as not noticeable when displayed. Any white areas in my photographs are purely light reflection. Will be sent very safely packaged, as always.
