Brass and painted case with glass dome. Astral and zodiac dial. Automation clock in the arched dial. Brass bezel with bevelled glass with enamel dial. German 400-day spring driven movement. Measures 29cm high by 14cm wide & 14cm deep dial is 8cm in diameter. Fantastic rare torsion clock with automation on brass and painted base with original glass dome dust cover. Rare German 400 Day, Anniversary, Torsion Clock. A very rare German made 400 day, Anniversary, Torsion clock by’WURTH’? Never had or seen one like this before as it has a snake and ball pendulum. It also has’D. M 6791′ stamped onto it Makers name?? . This clock has no dome which appears to have been missing for many years. The steel work has some surface rust which should clean off and it needs a new suspension. The spring is good and fully wound. The dial is delightful with secessionist style decoration and beautifully engraved flowers. This is an unusual, early and extremely attractive clock that requires restoration. The base is wooden and brass and sits on four brass bun feet. Please view photos carefully as it forms part of the overall description, and please ask all questions prior to sale. Rare And Early Wooden 400 Day, Torsion, Anniversary Four Glass Clock. A very rare and early 400 Day, Torsion, Anniversary clock. Not seen one like this before, nicely made by’Badische U hrenfabrik’ who I believe were German makers? Their logo (‘B’ in a crescent moon) is found on the movement. The movement itself is in good sleepy condition but would require a full clean and service for it to work well. The disc pendulum is spinning a little whilst there has been a repair at the top of it (see photos). This movement is very unusual as it has Lantern pinions almost unknown on Torsion clocks. There is also a very unusual top crest to it, must be quite rare. Nice original disc pendulum while the dial is not the usual one that you see, possibly celluloid and is nicely patterned while the hands are nicely shaped. The four glass case is wooden which has been stained/polished red, so will need repolishing as it has scuffs, dings and scratches consistent with age. All four glasses are present, the front of which is bevelled. A nice early and rare model of a popular genre of clocks. Measures 12in tall x 6.25in wide x 6.25in deep approx.
