“Rare – Interesting Piece of Phonograph History” ANTIQUE: EARLY 5 CYLINDER PHONOGRAPH UNMARKED – Brass Metal Top Piece was found attached as seen in photo and WAS TREADLE POWERED at the time of discovery. You are getting an antique unmarked early 5 cylinder phonograph (not complete, as I have been told) – that was treadle powered from the late 1800’s. Termites destroyed the table top that the phonograph was sitting on (see actual photos – showing the wood table top that was there before it had to be removed). It was part of a huge antique find in Polk County, Florida recently that was caught up in legalities between two deceased antique collectors for a couple of decades or more. Please look over all the photos as they are part of the description. The piece is untampered with and just the way we found it. NOTE: This paragraph may have nothing to do with this item:This is one of the early dictating machines/phonographs of the 1870’s – 1890’s. Not sure what company or person was behind this one since it is unmarked… Edison, Bell, Tainter, Bell? The dictating machines of this time period used tin, foil and wax over the cylinders. Some were also known as shavers, Volta, Dictaphones, or Graphophones. Tainter was the first, I believe, to put the phonograph on a sewing machine base and use the treadle to power the phonograph cylinder. This listing is for the top unit only – not the treadle base/sewing machine base that you see in the photos. You will get the item just as you see it in the photo (top phonograph part only). >the phonograph approximate dimensions: 18-1/2″W x 8-1/2″D x 9-1/2H (brass type metal). The base with treadle is NOT included. Table top is NOT included. Non-working phonograph at this time. Very neat, older, probably early 1900s era piece, maybe an old dime store toy, marked on the cart, Made in France SR. It looks like a tin or lead metal painted gold and it’s a super cool horse drawn cart and the cart has moving wheels. Really a fine old little toy in very nice shape with some paint loss in spots, very light wear and could use a little fine cleaning. About 1 3/8 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches long. That’s less than it will cost us. The item “RARE Antique Early 1900s Small Metal France SR Horse Drawn Cart” is in sale since Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Being offered For sale this Rare Antique White Metal Pomander or tea ball with No reserve. I originally thought this was a Tea ball but the open fret work is too open to keep tea leaves in. I showed it to a silver specialist friend who said it looks like a pomander due to its size and the double chains it is hung on. The ball is crafted in a white metal and is beautifully pierced i think by hand as there is some irregularities in the piercing work. It also has the number 32 stamped inside the lid i don’t know what this is for but worth mentioning. The lid is hinged and works well i think these are the original chains there are a few dints but this is to be expected with age. The ball measures 13.5cm around the middle and weighs 21.6 gms. Please study photos in depth as these are a part of the description. All measurements are approximate all stones have been measured with a Moe diamond weight calculator and a diamond spread sheet. The item “Rare Antique Early 19th Century White Metal Pomander Or Tea Ball No Reserve” is in sale since Friday, January 25, 2019. This item is in the category “Antiques\Silver\Solid Silver\Boxes”.
