A rare example and one of the most authentic colonial american forms. Similar examples can be seen in 18th century period recreated movies such as”The Revenant”. Made Circa early 20th century by Bauer Pottery (1909 – 1962) Los Angeles, Ca Bauer’s earliest production was plain and fancy red clay flower pots. This very hard to find example is clearly marked “GOOD LUCK 10″ on the underside and bears a four leaf clover, horse shoe and whirling log in relief on the curved stepped body with pronounced scalloped collar, a stepped rim at the top. Factory drilled for drainage. In very good overall condition – a few minor chips are covered with old light green paint – no cracks or loss. There are three holes to attach wire to hang. In excellent original condition it has a superb authentic age appropriate deep early iron surface. It folds flat but when open and hung it measures 18”w x 12 1/4”h x 8 1/2”d. Mariano Fortuny unnamed pattern from the early 1920s with a large pattern of scrolling leaves, crowns and flowers in a large ogival pattern. Unusual coloring for which Fortuny is known of a ground of deep green with pinkish parchment overlay with matching border. This piece is unsigned. This piece is made up of three widths and fully lined with pocket on the backside at the top for hanging with a rod. Excellent conditions on the front with various spots on the backside lining that do not go through to the front.
