Used as a teaching aid for medical students, continental in origin and published circa 1824 – 1830 the graphically detailed content exemplifies close collaboration between Surgeon & Artist (often the same person) and drawn post mortem. Colours remain strong with light foxing and toning throughout. These came from a large collection of antique engravings, lithographs and prints etc from various disbound books and portfolios.
