Very Rare Early Antique Tiny Grodnertal Comb Tuck Wooden Dolls House Peg Doll 2cm. An ideal addition to a dolls house. All original with hand painted features with rosy cheeks and little yellow comb with tiny painted wisps of hair to the sides. Tiny jointed wooden peg body (all limbs present). Very Rare Antique Toy P. F. Volland Raggedy Ann & Andy Dolls Circa Early 1920’s

This listing is for an indeed rare pair of antique P. They have been in my collection for many years, safely displayed in a closed cabinet, in a temperature controlled environment, out of direct sunlight. The few age related flaws have not changed while I’ve had them. So that’s how I’ve decided to pass them on to the next owner, as a pair. I’ve made no changes to them, and can find no changes or repairs to either doll that were done by the previous owner, other then a few tiny stitches to Ann’s apron (pictured). Andy’s clothes have never been removed. The Andy dolls were all dressed at the same time they were assembled. The clothes were never intended to come off. His plaid shirt and blue pants are in wonderful condition with all the original mother of pearl buttons. He’s wearing his original cap, still secured from the factory. Ann is wearing her original pale blue dress (a bit faded) pantaloons and pinafore. All original buttons are present. The top of her pinafore is no longer gathered so I added a small safety pin for closure. She has a thin spot in the material under her smile and a small slit in the fabric of her left leg. I’ve pictured both of her arms where they connect to her body. They have had no repairs or needed to be reinforced. She has a heart in her chest and her patent stamp on her back, showing her to be an early doll dating to the early 1920’s. This pair is a true treasure. Thank you for your interest. Rare Early Antique German Gottschalk Dolls House

A rare Gottschalk antique dolls house circa 1885 no 2446. Please read the description carefully. When I bought this lovely house it had been repainted and papered many times. Exterior: The papers are worn having been covered with three layers of over painting. The woodwork has now been mostly repainted or enhanced as the original paint, apart from the roof, was almost non existent. The balcony and some of the window surrounds have been replaced as they were missing or wrong. One chimney is a replacement and I think the chimney pots have been added. The moulding in the middle of the dormer is missing as is one window glass. Interior: I removed seven layers of paper and paint to reveal the original papers. The floor papers are in pretty good condition apart from the smaller downstairs room where there are areas missing. The wall papers in the two upstairs rooms are in reasonable condition and very pretty. The downstairs papers are worn with missing patches particularly in the smaller room. The interior doors have been repainted. I have had many Gottschalk houses in the past but have never seen this one. It is far from pristine, however, considering the age and all the layers of over painting and papering, it is amazing that any original papers have been saved. The hard work has been done and the new owner can decide to leave as it is, do a little more tidying or do further restoration/renovation. It is a rare and early house and will look lovely when full of furniture. Please look carefully at the pictures as they form part of the description. The last photo is the house as I bought it. Please contact me with any questions or for further pictures. Measurements of house are: Height 26″from bottom of base to ridge, Width 23″, Depth 9.5. Base measures 27″ wide and 15″ deep. Both are very early versions, produced by the P. They are in exceptional condition, both with whimsical smiles. Striped red and white sock legs. And wearing their original clothes. Raggedy Ann still has the blush on her cheeks, and a cardboard heart (found only in the early Raggedy Ann dolls). Raggedy Ann measures about 15″ tall, and Andy is about 16″ tall. While researching the twosome, I found this lovely HISTORY OF RAGGEDY ANNE online. Raggedy Ann was created by the talented author and illustrator Johnny Gruelle. She began as a family rag; an old toy, faded and worn, tossed into an attic. And there, the legend goes, a little girl named Marcella found her one wet and rainy day. Her father Johnny Gruelle, saw infinite possibilities in that old plaything, so he repaired her and gave her a name. With her shoe-button eyes and winsome smile, Raggedy Ann soon became the beloved playmate of Gruelle’s young daughter, Marcella. When Marcella Gruelle fell ill and died in her early teens, Johnny was devastated. But knowing how much his daughter had adored Raggedy Ann, he began writing the stories that were eventually published. Gruelle soon gave Raggedy Ann a brother named Andy, and through the years the two floppy rag dolls acquired many other wonderful story book friends – all inhabitants of a very special world, where dolls come alive and enjoy magical adventures when no mortals are present. Antique Rare DOOR OF HOPE Mission DOLLS COUPLE Carved Wood Head Early Period

Door of Hope Mission Doll. Seldom seen together, Antique Vintage early period COLLECTIBLE DOOR OF HOPE MISSION WOMAN DOLL, CIRCA 1901. Door of Hope was created in Shanghai, China in 1901 to help destitute children. These dolls were made TO help fund the mission. Young girls of the mission intricately handmade each doll’s clothing replicating what the Chinese people worn. The heads/neck area of the early period dolls were carved of Chinese fruitwood (generally Pearwood), while their arms, hands and feet were made of cloth. In later years the dolls hands and arms to the elbow, and sometimes feet and legs were also made of wood. The wood is very smooth, unvarnished with great detail. ThE eyes hair and lips would then be lightly handpainted almost like stained/brushed/rubbed with color. The bodies were made of cloth stuffed with raw cotton and bound feet. There were no markings on these dolls. These dolls is from the 1. Early edition early period. Her HEAD/neck area is carved OF fruitWOOD (generally pearwood). Her hair is in a carved bun style with gold accents and handpainted/stained face. The body is the early period cloth body with cloth hands circa 1901. She wears a long black skirt over long blue pants, with long sleeve mandarin collar tunic top. She wears a black band on her head. She has tiny feet with bound silk and embroidered slippers/shoes pointed up. He wears a long brown skirt over blue pants with a traditional suit with mandarin collar and knotted closures. He wears a 6 paneled had with a knot. His hair is braided and tied, this is unique to the very early dolls. His feet are silk with black slippers/shoes pointing up. There is a some fading of the clothing due to age. Also, slight discoloration on the lining of the clothing from age as is typical with silk-(see photos) ONe closure on the right side of mans tunic has thread worn away. Woman’s hat has thread worn away also. I believe that this is due to age of the silk. These dolls were in a collection owned by my aunt. Most of the collection was donated to a museum in New York City while she kept a few of her favorites at home. These dolls have been very well cared for and are in great condition for their age AND BEAUTIFULLY HANDCRAFTED DOLLs. DOLLs have NOT BEEN CLEANED AND IS in their original condition.
