WELCOME TO COAST TO COAST ANTIQUES! Description – Meissen porcelain sweet meat dish in the form of Pierriot from the Russian ballet Carnaval. It has the Meissen crossed sword marks, as shown. Age – Circa 1813. Size – Approximately 6 inches at its highest point by 7 + 7/8 inches long by 3 + 7/8 inches wide. Condition – Age appropriate, a small chip on the front of the flowered bowl as well as on the neck ruffle and possibly on the tips of the bow, see photos for compete assessment. RARE ANTIQUE 1813 EARLY MASONS IRONSTONE IMARI STYLE SWEETMEAT / DESSERT DISH. THIS IS A FINE AND RARE EXAMPLE OF AN EARLY MASONS IRONSTONE SWEETMEAT / DESSERT DISH. HAVING THE CIRCULAR’PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA’ MARK IT DATES TO BETWEEN 1813 AND 1820. DECORATED IN AN IMARI STYLE WITH GILDED RAISED DESIGN IT MEASURES 17.2CM LONG, 12.2CM DEEP AND STANDS 2.9CM HIGH AT THE RIM. IN GOOD CONDITION THERE ARE NO CHIPS OR CRACKS, THERE IS SOME MINOR WEAR TO THE GILDING IN PLACES AND ALSO SOME RESIDUE FROM THE KILN IN THE GLAZE MOSTLY TO THE BACK. A RARE EARLY TROIKA POTTERY RECTANGULAR DISH WITH MATT AND GLOSSY GLAZED ABSTRACT DESIGN IN DARK BLUE AND GREEN. MADE IN ST IVES, CORNWALL c. MAKERS MARK = Painted to base. DIMENSIONS = 30cm x 19.8cm (11 3/4in x 7 3/4in). CONDITION = VERY GOOD some discolouration to underside with a few very faint patches visible under the white glaze inside. Description: One (1) round bronze pin tray with a “Fish” in relief swimming. Created by renowned artist Edward T. Hurley – aka E. Engraved on the bottom is the artists signature initials ETH. Hurley studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati where he excelled in drypoint etching under the tutelage of noted painter Frank Duveneck. Hurley was also an accomplished painter and went on to work as a decorator for the renowned Cincinnati based Rookwood Pottery company. In addition, the artist produced a variety of work on his own including sketches and works executed in watercolor, pastel and oil. Hurley also worked with metal and sculpted a variety of pieces in bronze. His bronze pieces are rare and avidly collected.
