Up on offer here is this Superb and very rare early 1930s large industrial factory office desk lamp featuring a large ventilated heavy Opaline globe shade, and a rare three bulb lay out design. All original; Stunning period lamp.. “Please scroll down for details”. Large stool design base incorporating the large circular gallery with the original securing bolts. Built within the gallery is a very unusual central stanchion type three branch pillar structure, each branch with its original bronze E22 bayonet fit bulb holder. Very large heavy Opaline cased glass globe shade with Roman design sky light ventilation feature. Later fitted with a 1940s black Bakelite flat inline replacement ON /OFF switch. Later fitted with a 1940s MK Bakelite three round pin replacement plug with a cord grip. Recently professionally rewired with silk braided two core twist cable, tested, and in perfect working order. Three E22 bayonet fit bulbs. Modern wall socket adaptors are widely available. D dimensioned as follows. Desk Heigh: 46 cm. Base Ø: 21.5 cm. Globe Height: 31 cm. Globe Ø: 30 cm. Gallery Ø: 17 cm. In Beautiful period condition with minimum noticeable superficial signs of age related patina commensurate with its 80+ years of service; No damage. This is an original Aviation Art Deco DC3 Airplane Lamp designed by Chicago Designer, Ray A. Schober, in the late 30’s. And made by Premium Products MFG. The DC3 maiden flight was Dec17,1935. It has chrome plated metal base, wings, propellers, elevator, and rudder. It has a frosted white glass fuselage with silver painted stripes and windows. The light switch as in the tail and the light and switch are working. This was a very early piece with U S PAT PENDING molded into the glass under the fuselage. The patent which was later issued will be 110196 and they also later began making this in cobalt blue glass. Measurements are approximately 12″ L x 13.25″ W x 8 H. The glass shade is 9.50 L. The reproduction is marked “Saspirilla Deco Designs” both molded in the glass and stamped in the metal under the base. The bell seems to be a tortoise Type shell , very nice quality , does have a crack. The mechanics seems to function. Probably made in Germany, very early and heavy detailed quality. A stunning, rare early vintage Dugdills brass desk lamp. A beautiful, seldom seen lamp, with an all brass construction,’daisy head’ joints, a weighted base Stamped’Dugdill Patent’ lovely patination to the brass, Later green glass shade has been added. Designed by John Dugdill this is one of the earlier lamps in the iconic Dugdills range. Rewired in a twisted black flex. These lamps are very scarce indeed and a real investment. Hight 60cm in its normal position. As a rule all of our pieces are in good to excellent vintage condition. Please remember that if a piece is in original condition, minor wear should be expected. Crossbanded with herringbone inlay banding. Very fine original oak linings and locks. Handles look similar age. We are advised this is approx 300 years old and it is. 18th Century Queen Anne or Around that age. This has just come out of storageand is untouched so will clean up nice. Some handles are a little loose. One of the brass swan neck pulls has gone missing. But we may locate it. There is a little secret drawer above the kneehole that pulls out.
