Posted by admin On February 1, 2019
Robert Thompson Mouseman Leather Chair Very Rare Early Piece Made By Robert Thompson himself – Very early piece unsure of exactly when this was made… My Grandfather bought / acquired pieces from 1920 / 1930s onwards… And in the coal business all his life.. My mother was born in 1937. This is a piece made without a mouse on it.. In Very Good condition… My Grandad BoB Wilson from Leyburn used to know Robert Thompson personally and delivered coal to him and he ended up running a large coal distribution yard / business and he gathered a large Collection that I was left when he passed away.. He used to swap pieces with Robert Thompson for his coal bills they were good friends.. The leather is Very thick and this chair is Extremely well made and very rare as all my pieces have been! Chair photos have been taken without cleaning or polishing the chair, it is a bit dusty… Will look a million dollars after a wood & leather polish. Been in our attic room un-used for decades. THIS IS A PIECE OF ROBERT THOMPSON HISTORY FOR SALE! Personal viewing more then welcome… OPEN TO GENUINE SERIOUS OFFERS! IF INTERESTED MAKE A OFFER.. Message me for further details! Rare Early 1960’s G Plan Chair Kofod Larsen Chair Vintage Danish Retro
Posted by admin On December 19, 2018
An extremely rare (maybe one of a kind) 1960s E Gomme G Plan Armchair. I can only assume that this chair was designed by Ib Kofod Larsen as a concept / prototype chair. I do know that when Kofod Larsen starting designing furniture for G Plan a number of his pieces/designs were dismissed. The directors of G Plan at the time though some of his designs looked’too’ Danish for the more conservative British market. I very good reference to some of his designs / sketches of pieces that didn’t go into production can be found on the High Wycombe Archives database. I have decided to sell the chair in its completely original state, allowing the potential purchaser to restore or retain. The chair has a stained beech frame. Some age related marks and loose joints. No cracks or splits to the wood. The upholstery is tired with some clicks to upholstery. The chair is stamped EGomme GPlan to the underside. The item “Rare Early 1960’s G Plan Chair Kofod Larsen Chair Vintage Danish Retro” is in sale since Tuesday, December 11, 2018. This item is in the category “Antiques\Antique Furniture\Benches/Stools\20th Century”. The seller is “half_the-world_away” and is located in Newcastle upon Tyne. Rare early Mid Century lounge chair by Harvey Probber

1950s Harvey Probber model 1066 hoop back cane lounge chair. Harvey Probber was one of Americas most lauded 20. Equally at home in wood, metal and fabric he was also recognised for his range of cane furniture which set a new standard for beautifully crafted furniture that was considered both elegant and modern. The chairs are rare to find in their original form without repair as the cane detailing would often get damaged. This chair however is in its original condition and has been re-finished to a high standard whilst still maintaining marks of its history and patina. The seat was re-upholstered in velvet over 20 years ago but is in excellent condition having hardly been used and set aside in storage ever since. The model 1066 with its angular frame and the soft contour of its hooped back represents Harvey Probber at his best and still stands the test of time today. The chair shows a signature on the underneath of the frame. H x 33.46 in. W x 25.59 in. 65cm H x 85cm W x 65cm D. VIEWING AND CONDITION Please note that all of our items are vintage or, in the case of more modern furniture, previously used. As such even if described as in excellent condition they will show some signs of wear. We will always do our best to show any signs of wear in the photographs that accompany our listings but this can be difficult with certain materials such as chrome and glass which are reflective. On this basis if you would like to view the item before purchasing you are welcome to do so. On this basis please send us a message with your post/zip code for a quote and we’ll get back to you asap.
