Antique French, Rare Chandelier, Empire Period, Gilt Bronze, Early 19th Century. Chandelier says to “the Antique”. French bronze work with double patina, gilded bronze and brown patina bronze. Cassolette model with 6 sconces simulated by ” cornucopia ” supported by female masks. The bottom of the cassolette is decorated with palmettes and a central bud , the top of the cassolette is finished by a flame. The whole is maintained by 3 chains united by a crown decorated with a bud and palmettes. Bronze work is of very high quality. This chandelier is rare because it is vintage, circa 1810 , a lot of Empire chandelier dates from the end of the 19th century or the 20th century. The model that we offer dates from the early 19th century, the bronzes are gilding original (it is used in places), the brown patina of the rest is also original (it also has a lot of wear) but the whole is original which is rare. We can if you wish to carry out the electrification, but you can also use the chandelier in decoration with candles, as at the time. It is a very beautiful object, entirely in solid bronze. RARE Antique E. T. Hurly Swimming Fish Bronze Pin Dish Early 1900s

Description: One (1) round bronze pin tray with a “Fish” in relief swimming. Created by renowned artist Edward T. Hurley – aka E. Engraved on the bottom is the artists signature initials ETH. Hurley studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati where he excelled in drypoint etching under the tutelage of noted painter Frank Duveneck. Hurley was also an accomplished painter and went on to work as a decorator for the renowned Cincinnati based Rookwood Pottery company. In addition, the artist produced a variety of work on his own including sketches and works executed in watercolor, pastel and oil. Hurley also worked with metal and sculpted a variety of pieces in bronze. His bronze pieces are rare and avidly collected.
