1713 New Testament printed in London by John Baskett. Very rare early printing by John Baskett not mentioned in the Herbert Catalog! The first John Baskett printing was a New Testament in 1712. I’ve seen a copy of that printing bound into a complete Bible before, but this is the first time I’ve seen a standalone 1713 New Testament. Measures about 7.25″ x 4.75″ and a little less than 1 thick. Binding has a bit of a lean to it, spine a little worn with top and bottom chipped, but solid and attractive! This is one of those rare printings that very rarely come up for sale, much less in this good of condition! This is definitely a necessary addition to any Baskett Bible collection! V RARE ANTIQUE C1923 VINTAGE SIGNED R LALIQUE ESTEREL 6.25 / 16cm GLASS VASE DOUBLE CASED OPALESCENT BLUE VGC. More photos to follow.. 1923 René Lalique – Vase Estérel. Vase “Estérel” with grey patina by René Lalique in 1923. Engraved signature on bottom. A striking early 20th Century Art Deco French opalescent glass vase with excellent OPALESCENT Pale sky blue colour with grey patina and fine hand finished detail, signed R Lalique. This rare and vintage vase is a beautiful addition to any collection. The main feature is the superb, opalescence of the blue vase made in double cased opalescent glass. The exquisite design and craftsmanship make it a unique piece that is sure to catch the eye of any admirer. One has to look again and again at the alluring colour of the glass.. And the perfection of the shape. For me it is the opalescence that has it. I never weary of its glowing beauty. It is decorated with geometric leafy branches, with very fine leaf detail when you examine it closely. Lovely as a standalone decorative centrepiece item, this vase is a must-have for anyone who appreciates high-quality glassware. MEASUREMENTS: Height 6.25″ (16cm) x width 6 1/4″ approx. There is a small black mark on the inner base, made during manufacture. Note: The Massif de l’Esterel is a low mountain range on the coast of the Mediterranean in SE France having a high elevation of around 2000 feet. The most well known cities adjoining the range are the French Riviera (Côte d’Azur) cities of Cannes on the east and Saint-Raphaël on the west that are connected to each other by the coast road Corniche d’Or. FOR SALE : A lot of ten (10) original etchings / prints on paper from Georges Cuvier’s publication’The Animal Kingdom’. He was a major figure in natural sciences research during the early 19th century. Griffith was a member of the Zoological Society and a fellow of the Linnaean and Royal Societies. He appended much new material to Cuvier’s work, expanding it to fifteen volumes. Plates illustrating the work were mainly by Griffith or his artist wife, Harriet, but more accomplished illustrations were provided by the printmaker Thomas Landseer, who reproduced many of the wildlife paintings of his brother, Sir Edwin Landseer, and from the very famous C. Dapadium [Dapedium] politum (from Lyme [Regis, Leach England]). The MOSASAURUS of MAESTRICHT (Maastricht). Fossil Fish from the alias at Lyme. PTERODACTYLUS LONGIROSTRIS from Pappenheim.
