Amber-colored cylin der-shaped antique patent’quack’ bottle that o riginally contained a HEROIN LACED medicine. This is a very early hand B lown I nto M old bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating it back well over 100 years old. Bottle embossed : ” Glyco – Heroin /’SMITH’ “. Base of bottle embossed : MARTIN H. / CHEMISTS / NEW YORK. Condition : Bottle has overall stain and wear, has a shallow surfaced bubble, but really there is nothing specifically wrong with it, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. PLEASE see pictures for better idea of overall condition. Age : A hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a tooled-top, ca. T hese bottle contained a patent medicine and one of the main ingredients in it was Heroin, Glyico Heroin. Heroin was used over a century ago as an ingredient in cough syrup, to suppress the cough and suppressing the discomfort that is associated with it. Yet it did much more than that as patients came to find out that they kept using the syrup long after the cough was gone. As they say,’Caution, may be habit forming’. To say the least! Heroin is one of the most addictive substances known to mankind. This is one of the very few antique bottles that we know of that actually has the word ” HEROIN ” embossed in the glass which makes it quite appealing. It is not a commonly found bottle and these are getting increasingly hard to f ind , especially in this PRISTINE CLEAN condition, check it out! Condition is Used with ID and bit of old red flag too! Rare in that you move tail around and bears head can completely move in a 360 degree motion- wow! Standing about 7 is this precious very rare old steiff non jointed rare teddy bear circa 1910 WIth ID in good used overall condition with slight mohair loss overall and some tiny bald spots and thinning as shown. Paw pads original but show obvious wear as shown with excelsior showing! Can not stand cuz front legs but floppy excelsior has moved softened. Please see all photos carefully. RARE EARLY HEATH CERAMICS SEA & SAND COMBED STUDIO VASE C. I have seen only one other Heath Sea & Sand studio vase in my 30 years of avid collecting. T he museum-quality v ase is o f impressive size and technique, featuring a hand-combed semi-gloss and heavily speckled Sand exterior with a rich high-gloss Sea interior. The hand-combed surface and basket f orm is reminiscent of California N ative American basketry, possibl y produced for exhibition purposes. T his piece is n ot commercial Heath Ceramics dinnerware, but is a studio vase made for exhibition. In fact, this is not a commercial f orm meant for production. This is the only example of this form a nd glaze combination I have ever encountered. The vase measures 6. 5 h igh with a 7. 5 diameter at the shoulder. The vessel is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It is signed with the early Heath & Teacup mark. The vase exhibits an incredible amount of handwork including the deeply hand- combed exterio r. Antique Early & Rare Lecoultre & Brechet Key Wind Music Box C. 1848 (Watch Video)

Here we have an early and rare Lecoultre & Brechet 6 air musical box. This box was crafted in Switzerland in 1848 and is an excellent example of a mid 19th century musical box. Like all of the early high quality boxes, the mechanism is mounted on a solid brass bedplate. The mainspring is in good order and powers the 6 air movement with ease. The Geneva stop-work is present (both male and female) and is working correctly making it impossible for over-winding to take place. The cylinder pins are in excellent shape. The comb has all of its teeth and tooth tips, although there have been a few tooth repairs carried out at some point at the treble end. This has been professionally done however and the comb is still very much in tune. The box still has its original tune sheet after 171 years and is in very good condition. The box comes complete with its original winding key. The start/stop and change/repeat controls work as they should, as does the instant stop third lever. The case is in very good condition inside and out and has that warmth and charm that only these early keywind boxes seem to possess. There is slight warping to the lid and I think the end flap may have been replaced at some point, but it has been expertly done and is an excellent match. The case measures 15 1/2 inches wide by 6 inches deep by 5 inches high. Please see below to watch a video of the music box playing and remember, Musical boxes always sound far richer in person.
