D E S C R I P T I O N. RARE ANTIQUE EARLY DUTCH DELFT HAND PAINTED BLUE WHITE PORCELAIN LANDSCAPE BOWL. A vintage 18th century. Blue and white delft porcelain. Delft bowl, the outer body hand painted with a scene of pagoda temple and European house, garden and landscape, with lake boat to the foreground, the rear of the bowl with an island within the lake, above which flying birds, the interior rim with flower and arching pattern. The over-all condition of this vintage item is in excellent condition, Lite natural wear, a little chip and cracks on the interior – otherwise in fine form. Please see a large photos. Delft, first produced in the Dutch city of Delft, was created in response to Chinese porcelains. These earthenwares were glazed with tin, which produced a white surface on which artists could paint beautiful scenes and designs. 4 3/4 inches high with a diameter of 5 inches at the widest. RARE ANCIENT EGYPTIAN PHARAONIC KING ANTIQUE ANUBIS Lord of Mummification Stella. The mummification process took seventy days. Special priests worked as embalmers, treating and wrapping the body. Beyond knowing the correct rituals and prayers to be performed at various stages, the priests also needed a detailed knowledge of human anatomy. The first step in the process was the removal of all internal parts that might decay rapidly. The brain was removed by carefully inserting special hooked instruments up through the nostrils in order to pull out bits of brain tissue. It was a delicate operation, one which could easily disfigure the face. The embalmers then removed the organs of the abdomen and chest through a cut usually made on the left side of the abdomen. They left only the heart in place, believing it to be the center of a person’s being and intelligence. The other organs were preserved separately, with the stomach, liver, lungs, and intestines placed in special boxes or jars today called canopic jars. These were buried with the mummy. In later mummies, the organs were treated, wrapped, and replaced within the body. Even so, unused canopic jars continued to be part of the burial ritual. A Rare Very Early Antique Noritake Twin Handled Lidded Floral Pastel Vase c1902. A beautiful and very rare, early Noritake twin-handled, lidded floral vase bearing the single blue Noritake Komura mark to the base, dating the vase to >1902. The vase is of a beautiful four-footed pedestal form with twin open-top handles and lid with pointed finial. The vase is intricately hand-decorated with pink, purple and yellow blossoms with foliage and beautiful gilt beading and scrollwork on a white and turquoise ground. A really wonderful, early collector’s item. The vase is in quite remarkable condition with no chips or cracks to the body even the handles are good! But there is a little rubbing to the gilt around the topmost rim. The lid has been broken but professionally restored with the damage almost invisible to the outward facing area. A really good piece of restoration. Please see photographs for more information. The vase is 33cm high (including lid), 14cm diameter, 1063g weight. Royal Crown Derby Rare Antique Old Imari #1128 Inkwell Offered in very good condition. Made at the Osmaston Road Factory in 1940. It is hard to imagine anything of beauty being made during this bleak time in our history. The three piece set is in very good condition for her age. There has been repairs made to the top and there is a small chip on the underside of the top at the rim. Measures approximately 4″ tall with top by 2 3/4″ wide.
