Early 1800’s Pennsylvania Redware slipware plate. This is a rare size and measures only 6 3/4 in diameter. Beautiful pumpkin color with vibrant yellow slip. The yellow slip decoration is in a very rare three line swirl design. Very finely done uniform coggling around the rim. The plate has a few very fine scratches, and crazing consistent with age. There is one very small area of glaze loss in the center of the plate. No chips, hairlines, or repairs. Guaranteed to be a very rare and early plate. I collected slipware for almost 40 years and had an extensive collection of plates. This is the best of the best. Offered at a fraction of what I paid, and a fraction if its current value. This and one other spectacular plate that I have yet to list are the gems of my collection.
