Rare Antique (1920s) Thai Celadon Crackle Glazed Pottery Vase In Perfect Condition (7/18cm). Please browse all 12 photographs attached as they are self explanatory. Lovely vase in marvellous condition without any chips, cracks or defects whatsoever. Celadon is one of three main types of ceramics in Thailand. Its production has continued to develop from its early beginnings 700 years ago until the present. Sukhothai – the capital of the first Thai Kingdom – was the production center of the greenish-glazed stoneware known as “Sangkhaloke” wares. The name’celadon’ derived from two Sanskrit words:’sila’, meaning’stone’, and’dhara’, meaning’green’. Therefore,’Celadon’ means green stone. Celadon comes in many shades and styles, being found in tones of light and dark gray, honey yellow, green and green-yellow, olive green, blue-green and brown. As celadon is a man-made product which depends upon the skills and experience of craftsmen, it is valuable. Because of its attractiveness, celadon is used both for home decoration and everyday use. Cooking and serving with celadon ware is recommended, even in a microwave oven, since no chemicals are used during production. Celadon is a Thai art and craft which is closely related to Thai culture and tradition from ancient times till nowadays. The traditional process from our Thai forefathers and the skills in today’s production constitute a valuable and important heritage for the future generations.
Antique RARE 17 2 LION Silverplate Heavy Candle Stick Holders Early Mid Century. It has a great patina the way it is. It is 17 inches tall and weighs over 4 pounds each, fantastic detail. We were told these are very rare and hard to find. We found no makers mark on them.
Offering this hard to find rare antique wood dough bowl. Measures 14.5″ x 13.75″ x 4.75 T. This is an early beehive style bowl with a thick footed base. Has an incised rim on the inside but not the outside. Does have a tight line as seen. Displays a nice wear and patina. Great and unique bowl.
An exceptionally Early example of an Omani silver Neck-piece made from woven goat leather straps and silver appliqués (najm) – Worn by Bedouin women in combination with the Shabka. Origin: Northern and Central Oman (Bedouin). It is worn across the top of the shoulders and is secured at the front by two long brown cotton cords hanging from the ends of the collar. This type of collar is usually worn with a similarly decorated leather head-dress by the Bedouin women of northern Oman. Probably from Bidiyah and areas in the Wahiba Sands. Small areas (Patches) of light condition issues (Losses, rubbing, missing silver dome pieces) – an early example so some condition issues as to be expected. EARLY SCOTTISH CINEMA SIGN. A rare early cinema sign, in untouched condition since the day it was last used to display the evenings movies in 1955, in Scotland – Timberjack and African Manhunt. The cardboard spacers have a lovely naturally worn and aged patina, creating wonderful contrasting colours against the dark stencil letters. The paper lining at the back which is used to help illuminate the letters has been damaged to the top, which is likely the reason it was discarded and not used again. I have taken pictures of it with and without a light behind it, to show how it would have looked in use. This could be achieved as a permanent display if you create a light box for example. I however, have left it as found. 96cm H x 65cm W x 3cm D.
Hello and I appreciate your time. I pack well and attempt to pack just like it was coming to me. I will describe this item to the best of my ability and knowledge. This is Not a repro and Guaranteed Original and comes from a Long-Time Collection. This is a Very Early American Ink and might be from Keene Glass House in New Hampshire. Although, it is Very Unusual that it does Not have Ribs or Flutes near the base on side. It has a Larger Hobnails. It also has Smooth Shoulders. I would date it from about 1815 to about 1840. It stands about 1 3/4 inches tall and about 2 1/4 inches across at base. It stands about 2.5 inches tall. It is dark Black Glass and has a Beautiful Color through light. It has a partial open air bubble at opening to about onion skin depth. It has some tiny nicks on top disc edge, or it could be in-making. Not sure, but very small and mentioned for accuracy’s sake. It has some Honest base wear. No cracks and No repairs. It has Great Shine and is clean. You will be Pleased with this Top-Shelf Example!
