I had a wonderful opportunity to acquire a gorgeous collection of early 19th century, circa 1820’s chintz. All English printed for the American market. A prestigious fine collection from a New England collector. I’ll be listing them all in separate listings. This listing is for a sublime early pillar floral chintz. Roller printed & hand block printed. Pillar prints are highly collectible & this is truly a stunning example. The scale is large. Please zoom into all the lovely elements as it is beautifully created. Very overcast today so not certain my photos do this outstanding piece justice. Appears in lovely condition for it’s age with a hint of mellowing to the early hues & some surface patina. Excellent for many authentic early period projects & quilt repair, cushions, framing, possibly a cover for a stool or similar etc. And excellent in a collection or archive as these are all very rare survivors. So early & so hard to find. Measures 23″ wide by 35″ long. If desiring the full panel, please enter a quantity of “2” & you’ll receive a length that is 23″ wide by 70″ long. A very early rare Dutch Delft maiolica tile painted in many colours. Decorated with a jumping fox mounted by an orange circle, a so called”Rotterdammer – Circa 1600 – Good condition, reglued in 2 pieces, side damage and chips (please see pictures) no restorations – very difficult to find this coloured type. Rare antique all original Victorian Lace Makers work stool. Lovely comfy solid elm dished round seat. Solid elm turned legs, 3 legs to prevent wobbles on uneven surfaces. Blacksmith made, hand forged iron stretcher bars run through each leg and hand riveted firmly in place. Strong and sturdy, no wobbles, tight joints. Some historic minor damage to seat rim consistent from use, includes bumps, marks and saw cuts. Dimensions: 20 inches tall, seat 1ft diameter. Please see all photos. Any questions please ask. C1830 Treen Lignum Vitae Early Go To Bed Match Protector & Striker. Very early go to bed match striker protector circa 1830. Beautiful lignum vitae wood. No external striker, instead two discs (below the bone finial) lined with glass paper. The upper disc lifts so that a match can be inserted and moved to create the friction to light. Overall in good antique condition, screw thread good, some losses to the decorative petal detail, otherwise expect marks, general signs of wear and use commensurate with age and nature of item.
