A beautifully made Antique Cut Steel Brooch in the form of a key. The multi-faceted cut steel studs that make up the Brooch would have sparkled wonderfully in the candlelight of a ballroom and stood out in the dark. This brooch is made up of four different shapes of stud. Cut steel jewellery was at the height of fashion in the 19th century and was very desirable both here in England and in Europe. Often made in Woodstock in Oxfordshire. Measures 5cm just under 2 long including the pin which extends slightly beyond the key. In excellent antique condition. Such an amazing survivor to have lasted this long!
Rare Royal Doulton Flambe Antique Vase – Desert Scenes. Continuous desert oasis scene around the main body depicting Arabs riding camels in a landscape of palm trees. Shape: 6954 (impressed to base). Height: 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm), Girth: (widest) 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), Top Diameter: 3/8 inch (0.9 cm), Base Diameter: 1 5/8 inches (4.2 cm) approx. Perfect Condition Assured – No cracks, chips, crazing, scratches, restoration or any other kind of damage. I apologise for the glare in my photographs but the Flambe glaze is so difficult get the perfect pic. Any white areas in my photos are purely light reflection. For sale is a RARE early American antique tinder box with its complete assembly of fire starting tools (2 flint rocks, an iron striker, and some tinder fiber). The box was hand hammered and formed with brass by highly skilled metal smith in the 1700s. This tinder box is a essential tool carried by colonial American pioneers to kindle fire in the wilderness and to start a fire for a primitive hearth. This particular box is in octagon form.
