Rare Mated Pair Antique Late 18th Early 19th Century Oil Portrait Paintings. For sale is a very rare & stunning pair of antique oil paintings that are on linen/canvas and were expertly painted by an unsigned artist. High gloss varnish finish. Overall decent condition with expected crazing, occasional holes and paint loss. The frames were recently re-glued and the areas with missing paint touched up. These are definitely not museum pieces. But they are nevertheless beautiful and pleasant. Each measure approximately 27 inches wide by 32 1/4 inches tall by 1 1/2 inches deep. Again, thes portraits are wonderful survivors and not in perfect condition. Feel free to ask questions. All sales are final. Antique Early 19th Century Beatrice D'Este Oil Portrait Rare Family Crescent
Original circa 1800’s, Baked Ceramic, with a very highly detailed Oil painting of Beatrice D’Este. At this time the artist is unknown. Backside of ceramic has original lines from the antique firing process used to form the one piece mold. This piece is one solid baked mold, with the family crest built in. The painting itself is highly detailed, and does have some crazing. There are a couple of chips that could use repair. The piece is approx. 15.25″ tall, and 9.25″ wide. It has the original hardware hanger. This is a must have for any collector. This beautiful painting was found some years back at an estate sale in Virginia. We can’t remember much about the elderly woman who lived there, but that she was French, and moved to the US in the 1940’s after WW2. Please see all pictures, any questions feel free to ask. Very Early Ross London Petzval 320mm f4.5 Portrait Antique Brass Lens c1851 RARE
Very Early Ross London Petzval Portrait lens with a cemented achromat lens at the front and two air spaced lenses (flint+crown) at the rear. 4355 (very early Circa 1851/52). Focal length: 320mmApprox. Speed: f4.5 approx. Ross lenses are synonymous for their quality and the early portrait petzval lenses were amongst the very best lenses for their time. In fact Dallmeyer worked for Ross for some time before setting up his own business in c1860. Probably made/intended for 6×4″(cabinet) format although covers very well on my whole plate(6.5″x8.5 format) camera. May also cover 10×8 especially at portrait distance(not tested). The outside of the brass lens barrel shows much patina and wear/scratches commensurate with age. There are some dings/dents to the hood. The barrel has been cut/modified possibly by W. Optically the lens is in good condition especially when considering it’s age. Clean / clear to look though. On closer inspection there is some small edge separation on front lens. Also a few quite deep scratches/scuffs marks on rear glass. There are also some small dust / cleaning marks / small scratches and some micro bubbles all normal for an antique lens of this age and nothing to affect performance. The rack&pinion is not working smoothly! It appears to slip/get stuck mostly in one direction, although if helped by hand it can be made to work somewhat but it’s really not so important as usually the camera should be used to focus. There is a w aterhouse stop slot that has been made later but no stops included! All lens elements & hood can be unscrewed. Height: 6.7 inches including hood. Glass diameter: 3.25 inches. Rear screw thread diameter: 4.2 inches. Lens comes with front cap(poor condition/falling apart). PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO FLANGE WITH THIS LENS! THESE EARLY ROSS LENSES DO NOT COME ALONG OFTEN SO ACT QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS OUT ON THIS ONE! ALL SENSIBLE OFFERS CONSIDERED! Please look at all pictures and do not hesitate to ask any questions! PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN ANTIQUE LENS OVER 100 YEARS OLD THEREFORE SHOWS WEAR AND TEAR AS EXPECTED FOR A LENS OF THIS AGE! Time wasters will be reported and blocked! Inspection and collection more than welcome from East London! The item(s) will be sent to your Pay-Pal address ONLY, please make sure your address is confirmed. Box or proxy addresses!
