Rare French Antique Early 18C Farmhouse Hunt Table / Kitchen Island with Drawers
May 4, 2019
This is a very rare French farmhouse hunting table table à gibier sourced in the Loire Valley – from the early 18th Century. This table was used to present game after a hunt, which was considered to be a pastime of Royalty and the privileged class. This table that features 2 drawers (one in the front and one on the side) can be used as kitchen / dining table (it can sit up to 6 people) or a kitchen island. It shows some signs of wear consistent with age and use and signs of extinct woodworm holes that we have treated for good measure. Full of character this table crafted in beech, elm and oak has aged to a stunning very light colour and would make the most stunning statement piece in any home.
